- • As Manager, Payment Operations at WeTravel, you will lead a globally distributed team responsible for ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant payment processing for travel organizers worldwide, directly enabling the company’s mission to empower entrepreneurs in the travel industry and scale from $1B to $10B in annual transaction volume.
- • You will manage day-to-day operations of the Payment Operations team, including task allocation, 1:1s, performance tracking, and oversight of critical periodic processes like 1099-K filings, while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- • You will serve as the escalation point for complex payment issues, working directly with customers via chat, email, or phone/video to resolve disputes and ensure timely solutions, while liaising with Payment Service Providers (PSPs), Compliance Ops, Customer Support, Sales, Product, and Business Intelligence teams.
- • You will conduct regular risk and compliance reviews, recommend process optimizations, and lead initiatives to upskill team members, all while operating with high autonomy in a remote, ambiguous, and fast-paced environment that values continuous improvement and empathy.
- • You will contribute to WeTravel’s strategic growth by enabling seamless payment experiences for 8,000+ organizers and over a million travelers across 150+ countries, helping build the infrastructure that turns travel adventures into sustainable, scalable businesses.
- • You will grow as a leader in fintech and payments operations, gaining deep exposure to global PSP integrations, risk mitigation frameworks, and SaaS scalability challenges — all while working with a mission-driven, travel-passionate international team that values innovation, inclusivity, and work-life harmony.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in payments, risk, or compliance operations within SaaS, marketplaces/platforms, eCommerce, online gaming/gambling, fintechs, or payment processing, including at least 2 years of direct people management.
- • Advanced proficiency (C1 or higher) in both English and Spanish, written and verbal, with proven ability to communicate clearly with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
- • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience managing customer escalations and improving internal processes through data-driven insights.
- • Hands-on experience working with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
- • High self-motivation, ability to lead cross-functional and cross-geographic initiatives, comfort with ambiguity, and a drive for continuous process optimization and team upskilling.
- • Empathy, patience, and passion for supporting team members and customers, including willingness to engage directly via chat, email, or phone/video to resolve complex payment issues.
