- • As the Manager of Payment Operations at WeTravel, you will lead a globally distributed team responsible for ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant payment processing for travel organizers and their customers across 150+ countries, directly enabling the company’s mission to power $10B in annual travel experiences by empowering small businesses to launch and grow their adventures.
- • You will manage day-to-day team operations including task allocation, regular 1:1s, performance tracking, and oversight of critical periodic processes such as 1099-K filings, while driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration with Compliance Ops, Customer Support, Sales, Product, and external Payment Service Providers (PSPs) to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
- • You will serve as the escalation point for complex payment issues, resolving customer concerns via chat, email, or phone/video call, conducting risk and compliance reviews, and leading initiatives to optimize workflows and upskill team members in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and innovative environment.
- • The Payments Operations team is a strategic pillar of WeTravel’s growth, composed of experienced professionals in payments, risk, and compliance based remotely across Europe, Latin America, and the US, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain platform integrity and trust.
- • In this role, you will develop leadership expertise in scaling payment operations within a high-growth SaaS platform, gain deep exposure to global payment ecosystems and compliance frameworks, and drive measurable impact on operational efficiency, customer experience, and team capability — positioning you as a key contributor to WeTravel’s journey from $1B to $10B in annual travel volume.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in payments, risk, or compliance operations within SaaS, marketplaces/platforms, eCommerce, online gaming/gambling, fintechs, or payment processing, including at least 2 years of direct people management
- • Advanced proficiency in both English and Spanish (C1 or higher) in written and verbal communication, with proven ability to engage customers, internal teams, and external partners effectively
- • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to manage customer escalations, improve internal processes, and lead cross-functional and cross-geographic initiatives amid ambiguity
- • Experience working with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI to extract insights for internal and external stakeholders
- • High self-motivation, empathy, patience, and a passion for enabling team and customer success, including comfort with direct customer contact via chat, email, or phone/video to resolve complex issues
