- • As Manager, Regulatory Compliance, US at Airwallex, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the company’s adherence to financial regulations across the United States, supporting its mission to build a global payments and financial platform for businesses. You will be a key member of the Global Regulatory Compliance team, acting as a trusted advisor and second-line-of-defense partner to enable compliant growth and innovation.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing license authorization processes, acting as a primary liaison with U.S. regulators, maintaining compliance reporting for U.S. entities, supporting regulatory examinations, advising on regulatory changes, developing internal policies and processes, managing compliance risk within the risk framework, conducting compliance monitoring and training, and leading proactive initiatives to unlock operational efficiency.
- • You will join a collaborative, high-performing Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team of over 2,000 innovators across 26 global offices, working within a company valued at $8 billion and backed by top-tier investors including Visa, Mastercard, Sequoia, and Salesforce Ventures. The team is dedicated to safeguarding operations through integrity, proactive risk management, and ethical conduct.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in U.S. financial regulation, particularly around money transmitter licensing and fintech compliance, while developing leadership skills in cross-functional influence, regulatory strategy, and risk management. You’ll have the opportunity to shape scalable compliance solutions and contribute directly to Airwallex’s expansion in one of the world’s most dynamic financial markets.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of regulatory compliance experience in a financial institution, FinTech, legal/consulting firm, or combination
- • Familiarity with financial regulatory laws, rules, regulations and industry best practices across US and the Americas region
- • Data proficiency - ability to work with data and leverage it for strategic decision-making
- • Ability to operate strategically and think creatively to solve complex regulatory compliance challenges
- • Superior communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex topics to a wide range of stakeholders including regulators, executive leadership, and front-line staff
- • Experience with developing and/or maintaining a compliance program within a financial institution, preferably in respect of payments activity
