- • Lead day-to-day execution of customer and advertiser risk reviews, including KYC/KYB onboarding, sanctions screening, and enhanced due diligence workflows for global customer and supplier populations.
- • Manage the full lifecycle of risk operations for customers, advertisers, and strategic counterparties—from onboarding through monitoring, escalation, reassessment, and offboarding.
- • Oversee sanctions screening operations across both customer and supplier bases, including development and refinement of automated screening workflows, adverse media review, and disposition governance.
- • Build and operationalize scalable customer risk and sanctions screening procedures aligned with OpenAI’s risk tolerance and evolving regulatory expectations.
- • Partner closely with Legal, Security, Finance, Procurement, GTM Systems, and Sales teams to embed risk controls into business workflows without impeding growth.
- • Lead integration and optimization of risk-related systems including Salesforce, Persona, third-party screening platforms, and internal workflow automation tools.
- • Develop and maintain dashboards, key metrics, SLAs, and reporting frameworks to provide leadership with visibility into the effectiveness and efficiency of customer risk operations.
- • Support and lead investigations into sanctions concerns, suspicious activity, fraud indicators, regulatory inquiries, and customer misuse scenarios.
- • Design and document repeatable operational playbooks for onboarding, sanctions screening, adverse media review, and escalation handling to ensure consistency and scalability.
- • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency while preserving control effectiveness across risk processes.
- • Explore and deploy AI-powered tools to streamline and improve OpenAI’s trade compliance and third-party risk management efforts.
- • Operate autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with high stakes, balancing business enablement with robust risk mitigation.
- • Drive continuous improvement in risk program design based on emerging regulatory trends, technological advancements, and feedback from cross-functional stakeholders.
- • Maintain rigorous attention to detail and compliance standards across all global customer and supplier risk activities.
- • Collaborate with international teams to ensure alignment with U.S. and global sanctions regimes, export controls, and customer due diligence frameworks.
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to GTM teams on risk implications of customer onboarding, advertising partnerships, and strategic supplier engagements.
- • Contribute to the scaling of OpenAI’s third-party risk program from early-stage operations to a mature, globally consistent function.
- • Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable operational steps for non-risk stakeholders across the organization.
- • Monitor and respond to changes in sanctions lists, adverse media events, and regulatory guidance affecting OpenAI’s global customer and supplier base.
- • Ensure all risk operations comply with applicable laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and California Fair Chance Act, while upholding OpenAI’s equal opportunity policies.
