Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As a Managing Consultant in BRG’s Revenue Cycle practice, you will lead high-impact engagements that directly improve financial performance for healthcare providers by optimizing revenue integrity, reducing denials, and enhancing operational efficiency across the entire revenue cycle—playing a critical role in helping clients achieve sustainable margin improvement in a complex regulatory and reimbursement landscape.
  • You will drive end-to-end consulting projects from discovery to delivery, including conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection, analyzing denial trends and root causes, redesigning workflows in patient access, coding, billing, and collections, and developing actionable recommendations that yield measurable financial results for hospitals, health systems, and physician enterprises.
  • You will manage client relationships at the representative level, adapting your communication style to engage executives, frontline staff, and cross-functional teams while ensuring alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations across diverse organizational cultures.
  • You will apply and expand your expertise in revenue cycle analytics using advanced Excel and preferred tools like SAS, SQL, or SPSS to audit processes, validate findings, identify risks and opportunities, and build compelling business cases supported by data-driven insights.
  • You will contribute to BRG’s thought leadership by conducting industry research, staying current on regulatory changes (e.g., CMS rules, payer policies), and helping expand the firm’s Revenue Cycle service offerings through proposal development and business expansion initiatives.
  • You will mentor junior consultants, foster a collaborative team environment, and uphold BRG’s commitment to quality by auditing your own work and peer deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to consulting best practices.
  • You will join a team of seasoned healthcare executives, operators, and clinicians within BRG’s Integrated Health Solutions practice, where interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world expertise are leveraged to deliver innovative, future-ready solutions that drive long-term growth and resilience for healthcare organizations.
  • In this role, you will accelerate your career trajectory by leading complex engagements, building deep expertise in revenue cycle transformation, and positioning yourself for advancement into senior leadership roles within BRG’s growing healthcare consulting practice.

🎯 Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with preference for candidates currently at Manager level in consulting or Director level in healthcare provider organizations.
  • Proven experience leading denials avoidance/prevention and avoidable write-offs initiatives that delivered quantifiable financial improvements, including specific metrics such as reduced denial rates or recovered revenue.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process redesign and improvement methodologies across the full revenue cycle spectrum, including patient access, HIM/coding, and patient financial services (PFS).
  • Hands-on experience with Cerner Patient Accounting systems is strongly preferred; proficiency in MS Excel is required, with familiarity in analytical tools such as SAS, SPSS, Stata, MS Access, or MS SQL Server considered advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, public health, engineering, or related fields is preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship; candidate must be able to submit verification of eligibility upon hire.

🏖️ Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $90,000–$135,000 for Consultant level or $120,000–$165,000 for Managing Consultant level, based on qualifications and experience.
  • Opportunity to work remotely within the USA with required travel of 50–75% depending on project needs and client expectations.
  • Access to BRG’s unique culture of agility, interdisciplinary collaboration, and access to world-leading academic and industry expertise.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge projects involving AI, digital enablement, and operational transformation in healthcare, supported by purpose-built technologies.
  • Professional development through mentorship, challenging engagements, and the chance to grow within a firm that values entrepreneurial spirit and creative problem-solving.
  • Employer commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as an Equal Opportunity Employer with comprehensive non-discrimination policies.
