- • Join a high-impact legal team at Allstate where your expertise as Managing Counsel, Claims directly shapes outcomes and safeguards the business by providing trusted legal guidance on high-exposure claims and complex coverage issues before litigation begins.
- • Day to day, you will advise the Claims Department on legal issues during claims handling—including coverage opinions, conditional demand responses, large losses, and emerging legal trends—while training claims professionals and collaborating with business and legal teams to minimize risk and reduce reliance on outside counsel.
- • You will be part of the Claims Matter Counseling (CMC) team within Allstate’s Business Law & Compliance Property Liability practice group, a mission-driven unit focused on protecting the Company while enabling smart, strategic decisions across Property Liability business units, including the Claims Department.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in insurance defense, extra-contractual liability, and bad faith litigation, while developing leadership in legal strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and risk mitigation—positioning you to influence outcomes that protect Allstate’s interests and support its mission of safeguarding families from life’s uncertainties.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctorate degree
- • Licensed to practice law and in good standing within the State of Practice
- • 7 or more years of claims legal experience
- • 3 or more years of coverage experience
- • Strong project management abilities with a proven track record of coordinating tasks and managing priorities
- • Demonstrated coverage experience with ability to perform detailed coverage analysis across multiple jurisdictions (preferred)
