- • As a Mapping Operations Senior Program Manager at Waymo, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the global expansion of the Waymo Driver by defining scalable, robust processes for mapping policy that align with regulatory requirements and technical needs.
- • Day to day, you will translate complex mapping regulatory and policy requirements into detailed technical specifications, lead the full lifecycle of mapping policy initiatives, establish decision-making frameworks using RACI matrices, and partner with legal, public policy, engineering, and operations teams to mitigate regulatory risks.
- • You will join the Mapping Operations team, which builds, validates, and improves high-definition maps that power Waymo’s autonomous driving system, working at the intersection of autonomous driving, data operations, and quality assurance to support safe, scalable deployment across markets.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in regulatory policy for autonomous systems, drive cross-functional alignment, and contribute to the creation of a world-class policy engine that enables Waymo’s mission to improve access to mobility and save lives through safer transportation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in program management, with 3+ years leading teams, focused on regulatory or policy-related initiatives in the tech industry
- • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with a strong understanding of product development lifecycles
- • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders
- • Proven experience working effectively with legal, public policy, engineering, and operations teams
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Public Policy, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience
