- • The Market Development Manager at WinField United Canada serves as the primary liaison between retail sellers, farmers, and internal teams to drive demand for proprietary brands and strategic initiatives, directly impacting agricultural productivity and retailer success in the Brandon region through localized, data-informed engagement.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include allocating 75% of work hours to customer-facing activities such as conducting on-farm visits, delivering agronomic training, providing technical support to ag retailers and growers, and building relationships with suppliers; the remaining 25% supports Field Trial Initiatives, Answer Plot programs, and technical marketing efforts using digital tools like Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and basic data analytics.
- • The role requires close collaboration with internal Agronomists and the Marketing Team to develop and disseminate strategic messaging to the retail network, while gathering and conveying field-level agronomic and market insights to inform product planning and demand creation.
- • The individual will work in tandem with Account Managers and Customer Service Specialists to align customer needs, product availability, and promotional planning, ensuring cohesive go-to-market strategies that strengthen retailer partnerships and drive sales performance.
- • This position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in agronomy, technical sales, and market development within a leading agricultural cooperative, while gaining hands-on experience in data-driven decision-making, field trial coordination, and cross-functional collaboration across a virtual team environment.
- • The role emphasizes independent work in a remote setting with strong virtual collaboration, requiring self-direction, initiative, and the ability to manage extended travel schedules, including daily and overnight trips to support retail partners and field operations across the Brandon territory.
- • Success in this role contributes directly to building vibrant agricultural communities by equipping independent retailers with the knowledge, tools, and products needed to help farmers optimize yields and sustainability practices.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a 2-year diploma in agriculture with extensive industry experience
- • Minimum 5+ years of agronomic or sales experience with direct customer contact, preferably in ag retail or working with ag retail partners
- • Proven ability to create and deliver informative, engaging technical presentations and training sessions
- • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort using SharePoint and basic data analytics tools
- • Ability to lift 50 lb. bags, climb on and off farm machinery, and work in field plots under varying weather conditions
- • Willingness and ability to travel daily, work extended hours, and undertake overnight travel as required
