- • Sitemate is seeking a dynamic and technically adept "full-stack" Marketing Director to spearhead our day-to-day marketing execution, manage our critical web infrastructure, and ensure seamless coordination across our high-output marketing team. This pivotal role sits at the crucial intersection of marketing operations and technical execution, demanding a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on implementation. You will be instrumental in managing our WordPress site, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, building and deploying web pages using code, conducting foundational Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) on landing pages and lead generation tools, guiding our paid media spend, and pioneering our approach to AI-era search optimization (AEO).
- • You will collaborate closely with a small but impactful team, including content engineers, a dedicated designer, a performance marketer, and a marketing operations administrator. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, this position is far from a conventional marketing management role. We are actively developing a sophisticated, programmable marketing infrastructure, which includes an Airtable-driven content pipeline, AI-assisted content generation capabilities, and automated publishing workflows. Your expertise will be vital in operating within this advanced environment, acting as a technical generalist who can not only code but also think strategically and execute programmatically. A strong comfort level with AI tools such as Claude and Cursor is not just expected, but a fundamental requirement for success in this role.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to orchestrate the marketing team's operational rhythm. This involves defining priorities, identifying and removing blockers, and managing seamless handoffs between different functions. You will ensure that content engineers, designers, and paid media specialists are all aligned on weekly objectives and are working cohesively towards shared goals. This coordination function is central to your role and will be key to maintaining our high velocity.
- • You will take full ownership of our website, ensuring its uptime, optimal page speed, efficient CDN performance, and reliable hosting (specifically on Kinsta). This includes managing all WordPress plugins and maintaining the integrity and functionality of our Airtable-to-WordPress content pipeline. When technical issues arise, you will be the first point of contact for diagnosis and resolution, ensuring minimal disruption to our online presence.
- • A significant part of your role will involve hands-on web development. You will be responsible for building and deploying new web pages, leveraging our established Airtable-to-WordPress pipeline, utilizing Beaver Builder/Themer, and writing raw code when necessary. This is a role where you will not just brief a designer, but actively contribute to the creation and launch of web assets.
- • You will also conduct foundational CRO initiatives. This includes setting up and analyzing A/B test variants for landing pages, implementing conversion improvements on lead generation tools and signup flows, and focusing on execution-level enhancements rather than high-level strategy.
- • A major focus will be on owning and developing our strategy for AI-era optimization (AEO). This is a critical and evolving area where you will be tasked with understanding how to ensure Sitemate effectively appears in Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other emerging AI search interfaces. Your work will involve implementing structured data, optimizing content for AI consumption, and actively monitoring performance to build a comprehensive AEO playbook.
- • You will provide oversight for our paid media spend, working in tandem with our performance marketer. Your role will involve tracking campaign performance, identifying potential issues, and ensuring budget discipline. While you won't be directly managing campaign execution, your strategic guidance and performance monitoring will be essential.
- • Beyond these core responsibilities, you will be expected to be hands-on with the team wherever your expertise is most valuable. This could range from debugging complex page speed issues, reviewing and refining landing page copy, to diving into Airtable to unblock a content engineer. Your willingness to jump in and contribute directly will be highly appreciated.

🎯 Requirements
- • Daily hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code is non-negotiable.
- • Proven ability to build and ship web pages, including proficiency in WordPress at a production level (site management, performance, plugins, theme-level work), and foundational CRO skills.
- • Strong understanding of web performance and infrastructure (page speed, CDN, caching, uptime monitoring) and a clear point of view on AI-era optimization (AEO) and its impact on search discovery.
- • Experience in coordinating marketing teams, managing priorities, and facilitating cross-functional handoffs, coupled with strong analytical skills and comfort with tools like Google Analytics 4.
