- • Sitemate is seeking a dynamic and technically adept "full-stack" Marketing Manager to spearhead our day-to-day marketing execution, manage our web infrastructure, and ensure seamless coordination within our high-output marketing team. This pivotal role sits at the critical intersection of marketing operations and technical execution, demanding a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on implementation. You will be instrumental in managing our WordPress website, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, building and deploying web pages using code, conducting foundational Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) on landing pages and generator tools, guiding paid media spend, and pioneering our approach to AI-era search optimization (AEO).
- • You will collaborate closely with a talented and agile team, including content engineers, a dedicated designer, a performance marketer, and a marketing operations administrator. Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, you will be a key player in driving Sitemate's marketing initiatives forward.
- • This is not a conventional marketing management position. Sitemate is at the forefront of building programmable marketing infrastructure, leveraging an Airtable-driven content pipeline, AI-assisted content generation, and automated publishing workflows. We require an individual who can thrive in this innovative environment – a technical generalist with the ability to code, think strategically, and execute programmatically. The ideal candidate embodies a founder/builder mentality, demonstrating inherent comfort and proficiency with AI tools such as Claude and Cursor, which are essential for daily operations.
- • Your core responsibilities will include orchestrating the marketing team's rhythm, ensuring clear priorities, identifying and removing blockers, and managing effective handoffs between team members. You will be the central point of coordination, ensuring content engineers, designers, and paid media specialists are all aligned on weekly objectives and deliverables. This coordination function is paramount to your role.
- • You will assume complete ownership of Sitemate's website, encompassing its uptime, page speed optimization, Content Delivery Network (CDN) management, hosting (specifically Kinsta), plugin integrity, and the critical Airtable-to-WordPress content pipeline. When technical issues arise, you will be the primary point of contact for diagnosis and resolution.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve hands-on website development. You will build and deploy web pages, utilizing our established Airtable-to-WordPress pipeline, Beaver Builder/Themer, and direct coding. This involves not just briefing designers, but actively creating and shipping functional web assets.
- • You will execute foundational CRO initiatives, including setting up and analyzing test variants for landing pages and implementing conversion improvements on our generator tools and signup flows. Your focus will be on practical execution rather than high-level strategy.
- • A major focus will be on owning and developing our strategy for AI-era optimization (AEO). You will be at the forefront of understanding how to optimize for visibility in Google's AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other emerging AI search interfaces. This involves developing structured data, refining content for AI consumption, and actively monitoring performance to build a comprehensive AEO playbook.
- • You will provide essential guidance and oversight for paid media spend. Working in tandem with the performance marketer, you will track campaign performance, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to budget discipline. While you won't be managing campaigns directly, your oversight will be crucial for strategic alignment and financial accountability.
- • Furthermore, you will be expected to contribute hands-on support to the team wherever your expertise is most needed. This could range from debugging complex page speed issues, reviewing and refining landing page copy, to diving into Airtable to unblock a content engineer. Your adaptability and willingness to jump in are key.
- • The challenges of this role are significant but rewarding. You will operate in a fast-paced scale-up environment, executing under tight deadlines from day one. The industry is undergoing a seismic shift with the breakdown of traditional SEO playbooks, requiring you to navigate and define AEO in real-time. The marketing team is lean and globally distributed, necessitating resourcefulness and a hands-on approach, as there is no large agency or dedicated development team to rely on. While the scope is broad – encompassing team coordination, web infrastructure, AEO, CRO, and paid oversight – the underlying patterns are logical and manageable once understood.
- • This role is ideal for individuals who build daily with AI-assisted tools like Cursor or Claude Code, have a proven track record of shipping tangible projects (landing pages, tools, automations) rather than just managing vendors, excel at keeping teams moving by clearing blockers and setting priorities, are comfortable owning and managing production websites beyond basic CMS usage, possess a clear perspective on AEO and the evolving search landscape, and exhibit strong builder energy, ready to optimize an existing system for peak performance.
- • Conversely, this role is not suited for brand or campaign marketers who delegate execution, individuals who require a fully pre-defined playbook, content-first marketers (as we have dedicated content engineers), or those who are unwilling to engage in both coordination and hands-on execution. 🎯 Requirements
- • Daily hands-on experience building with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) is non-negotiable.
- • Proven ability in hands-on technical execution, including building/modifying web pages, writing scripts, and utilizing APIs.
- • Production-level WordPress experience, encompassing site management (hosting, performance, plugins, theme-level work) beyond basic content editing.
- • Solid understanding of web performance and infrastructure, including page speed optimization, CDN, caching, and uptime monitoring.
- • Knowledge of SEO principles with a strong awareness of AI-driven optimization (AEO) and its impact on search discovery.
- • Fundamentals of CRO, with the ability to run A/B tests on landing pages, analyze conversion data, and implement improvements.
- • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and spreadsheets; SQL or similar data analysis tools are a plus.
- • Experience in team coordination, including managing priorities, running stand-ups, and facilitating cross-functional handoffs.
