  • • As a Marketing Manager for Sphera’s Hazardous Material Management System (HMMS) suite, you will own the go-to-market strategy and execution for a purpose-built solution serving U.S. government and defense organizations, directly contributing to Sphera’s mission of creating a safer, more sustainable world through environmental, health, safety, and sustainability software.
  • • You will develop differentiated messaging, execute integrated demand generation campaigns, and build thought leadership that connects HMMS capabilities to the unique needs of defense, federal, and military installations, ensuring alignment with complex procurement cycles and compliance requirements.
  • • You will join a rapidly expanding, values-driven team at Sphera — a Blackstone portfolio company and leader in the ESG space — where Customer Centricity, Accountability, Bias to Action, Innovation, and Collaboration guide daily work and culture.
  • • You will partner closely with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and digital marketing teams to translate technical and regulatory complexity into compelling value propositions, drive pipeline contribution, and optimize performance across channels.
  • • You will deepen your expertise in U.S. Department of Defense acquisition processes, GSA schedules, federal procurement, and EHS compliance while building visibility in government user communities and industry associations like SAME and DLA conferences.
  • • You will develop and execute full-funnel marketing programs across SEM, paid social, display, email, webinars, ABM, and government-focused trade events, defining KPIs, tracking pipeline contribution, and continuously optimizing based on performance data.
  • • You will craft thought leadership content such as white papers, blogs, and webinars on hazardous material compliance, DoD EHS requirements, and federal sustainability mandates, collaborating with SMEs to make technical topics accessible and compelling for government audiences.
  • • You will align with Sales and Account Management on ABM programs, pipeline targets, expansion opportunities, and renewal marketing, ensuring consistent messaging and execution across all customer touchpoints.
  • • You will report marketing performance and pipeline contribution to leadership with clear, data-driven recommendations for improvement, directly influencing strategy and resource allocation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3–5 years of B2B marketing experience with demonstrated success marketing to U.S. government, federal, or defense accounts.
  • • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel demand generation campaigns that drive qualified pipeline and revenue, including experience with ABM strategies and platforms (e.g., 6Sense, LinkedIn).
  • • Proficiency with marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot, HubSpot, Google Analytics) and strong project management skills to manage multiple campaigns, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory and technical topics into clear, compelling messaging for government EHS professionals and procurement stakeholders.
  • • Experience crafting product positioning, messaging frameworks, and sales enablement content for technical or compliance-focused software, preferably in EHS, hazardous materials management, SaaS, or defense/government contracting.
