- • Sitemate is seeking a dynamic and technically adept "full-stack" Marketing & Web Operations Manager to spearhead our day-to-day marketing execution, manage our critical web infrastructure, and ensure seamless coordination across our high-output marketing team. This role is pivotal, sitting at the nexus of marketing operations and hands-on technical execution. You will be instrumental in managing our WordPress site, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, building and deploying web pages using code, conducting foundational Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) on landing pages and lead generation tools, guiding paid media spend, and pioneering our strategy for AI-era search optimization (AEO). You will collaborate closely with a talented group of content engineers, a designer, a performance marketer, and a marketing operations administrator, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing.
- • This is not a conventional marketing manager position. We are actively constructing a sophisticated, programmable marketing infrastructure, which includes an Airtable-driven content pipeline, AI-assisted content generation capabilities, and automated publishing workflows. We require an individual who can thrive in this advanced environment – a technical generalist with the ability to code, think strategically, and execute programmatically. The ideal candidate embodies founder/builder energy, demonstrating a strong comfort level with AI tools like Claude and Cursor, which is an essential requirement for this role.
- • Your core responsibility will be to orchestrate the marketing team's operational rhythm. This involves defining priorities, identifying and resolving blockers, and managing handoffs between different functions, ensuring content engineers, designers, and paid media specialists are all aligned and focused on weekly objectives. This coordination is paramount to our success.
- • You will assume complete ownership of our website. This includes ensuring its uptime, optimizing page speed, managing the Content Delivery Network (CDN) and hosting (specifically Kinsta), maintaining plugins, and overseeing the crucial Airtable to WordPress content pipeline. When issues arise, you will be the primary point of contact for diagnosis and resolution.
- • A key aspect of your role will be the hands-on building and deployment of web pages. Leveraging our Airtable to WordPress pipeline, Beaver Builder/Themer, and direct coding, you will translate concepts into functional web assets. This involves not just briefing designers, but actively shipping and iterating on pages.
- • You will conduct foundational CRO initiatives, including setting up and analyzing test variants for landing pages and implementing conversion improvements within our generators and signup flows. This is an execution-focused responsibility, aimed at tangible performance gains.
- • A significant focus will be placed on developing our strategy for AI-era search optimization (AEO). You will be at the forefront of understanding how to optimize our presence for Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other emerging AI search interfaces. This involves developing structured data, refining content for AI consumption, and continuously monitoring performance to build a comprehensive AEO playbook.
- • You will provide essential guidance for our paid media spend. Working in tandem with the performance marketer, you will track campaign performance, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to budget. While you won't be managing campaigns directly, your oversight will be critical for strategic alignment and financial discipline.
- • Beyond these defined areas, you will be expected to contribute hands-on support to the team wherever your expertise is most valuable. This could range from debugging a complex page speed issue, reviewing and refining landing page copy, to diving into Airtable to unblock a content engineer. Your adaptability and willingness to jump in are highly valued.
- • The challenges in this role are significant but rewarding. We operate at a high velocity as a scale-up, requiring you to execute under tight deadlines from day one. The traditional SEO playbook is rapidly evolving due to AI, necessitating your ability to navigate and define AEO strategies in real-time. Our marketing team is lean and globally distributed, meaning resourcefulness and a hands-on approach are essential, as we do not rely on large agencies or dedicated development teams. While the scope is broad—encompassing team coordination, web infrastructure, AEO, CRO, and paid media oversight—mastering the core patterns will lead to a highly effective and impactful role.
- • This position is ideal for individuals who are deeply comfortable building with AI-assisted tools like Cursor and Claude Code daily, who have a proven track record of building and shipping tangible projects (landing pages, tools, automations) rather than just managing vendors, and who excel at keeping teams moving by clearing blockers and setting priorities. You should be comfortable owning a production website’s technical health and possess a strong point of view on how AI search is reshaping online discovery. Previous senior marketing roles or founder experience are valued, provided you bring a strong builder mentality and are ready to optimize an existing, high-performing system.
- • Conversely, this role is not suited for brand or campaign marketers who prefer to delegate execution, individuals who require a fully established playbook, content-first marketers (as we have dedicated content engineers), or those who are unwilling to embrace an equal blend of coordination and hands-on execution.
