đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Master Security Architect at Hitachi Vantara, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, systems, and information across the enterprise, ensuring that both corporate systems and customer-facing products meet the highest standards of security and trustworthiness in alignment with US Government requirements.
  • • You will collaborate closely with engineering teams and customers to evaluate, validate, and harden product security postures, ensuring compliance with federal standards and enabling Hitachi Vantara to deliver resilient, secure data infrastructure solutions to global innovators in sectors ranging from finance to entertainment.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assessing the security posture of products and services using internal and external criteria such as NIST, FIPS, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks; conducting gap analyses against regulatory and contractual requirements; and recommending remediation strategies to close identified vulnerabilities.
  • • You will lead security design reviews throughout the product lifecycle, integrating security-by-design principles into architecture decisions, threat modeling, and risk assessments to ensure that security is embedded from concept through deployment and maintenance.
  • • You will develop and maintain security documentation, including system security plans, security assessment reports, and authorization packages, supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes for federal and regulated industry clients.
  • • You will serve as a subject matter expert in security scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS), configuration management databases (CMDB), and continuous monitoring frameworks, leveraging automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) to enhance assessment efficiency and accuracy.
  • • You will mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional groups including legal, compliance, product management, and engineering to align security practices with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • • You will stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and federal cybersecurity directives (e.g., CISA alerts, NIST updates, Executive Orders), proactively advising leadership on evolving risks and mitigation strategies.
  • • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of Hitachi Vantara’s cybersecurity framework by refining assessment methodologies, developing playbooks, and advocating for best practices in secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) integration.
  • • You will operate within a diverse, global team that values innovation, integrity, and inclusion, where your expertise will directly impact the trustworthiness of Hitachi Vantara’s data infrastructure solutions used by banks, healthcare providers, governments, and theme parks worldwide.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in federal security compliance, gain hands-on experience with enterprise-scale product security validation, and grow as a trusted advisor shaping the security posture of cutting-edge data technologies — positioning you as a leader in cybersecurity architecture within a Fortune 500 global innovator.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with deep expertise in security architecture, risk assessment, compliance, and product security evaluation.
  • • Proven experience working with US Government security standards and frameworks including NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF, FIPS 140-2/3, DIARRM, and FedRAMP.
  • • Hands-on experience conducting security assessments using scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS), configuration analysis, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • • Strong understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC), threat modeling, and security controls for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
  • • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to translate technical security findings into clear, actionable recommendations for engineering, product, and executive stakeholders.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Industry-leading health, dental, and vision insurance plans with flexible spending accounts and wellness programs supporting holistic physical and mental wellbeing.
  • • Generous paid time off (PTO), company holidays, and parental leave policies designed to promote life balance and long-term employee sustainability.
  • • Retirement savings plan with company matching contributions, financial planning resources, and access to employee stock purchase opportunities.
  • • Professional development support including tuition reimbursement, certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GCED), and access to internal training platforms and conferences.
  • • Flexible work arrangements (remote/hybrid options) where role and location permit, enabling autonomy and work-life integration.
  • • Inclusive, merit-based culture with employee resource groups, diversity initiatives, and global collaboration opportunities that foster belonging and innovation.
