- • The Medical Cash Poster plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of Equip Health Inc. by ensuring accurate and timely posting of insurance and patient payments, directly supporting the company’s mission to provide accessible, evidence-based eating disorder treatment across all 50 states.
- • This role is essential to patient account accuracy and financial operations, enabling Equip to deliver transparent billing information to patients and families while supporting seamless reimbursement from insurers.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include processing insurance and patient refund requests promptly, posting payments and denials from insurance remittance advices (ERAs), interpreting coded billing data (including ANSI X12 835 and 837 formats) to validate claim submissions, communicating with payors to resolve overpayments or missing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), generating and tracking patient statements for clarity and compliance, and performing additional duties as assigned to support revenue cycle efficiency.

- • In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in medical billing workflows, gain proficiency in interpreting complex insurance remittance data, and strengthen communication and problem-solving skills through direct interaction with payors and internal teams—positioning them for advancement in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, or health operations roles within a high-impact, socially conscious organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Familiarity with ANSI codes used for medical billing and claims processing (e.g., ANSI X12 835 for remittance advice, 837 for claims)
- • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree (AA) in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing, or related field preferred
- • Minimum of one year of hands-on experience in medical payment posting, insurance remittance processing, or patient account management in a healthcare setting
