- • Submit medical claims accurately and efficiently to insurance payers, including Medicare and commercial insurers, ensuring compliance with payer-specific requirements.
- • Review, track, and follow up on denied, rejected, unpaid, or stale claims to ensure timely reimbursement and minimize revenue leakage.
- • Work directly with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies, payer rejections, eligibility issues, and authorization gaps.
- • Identify and correct errors in submitted claims, including coding inaccuracies, missing documentation, or incorrect patient demographics.
- • Submit corrected claims and manage appeals processes for disputed or denied payments, adhering to payer timelines and documentation standards.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all claim statuses, correspondence, and resolution notes within internal systems.
- • Monitor aging claims and proactively escalate high-risk accounts or persistent payer issues to prevent prolonged payment delays.
- • Collaborate closely with intake, credentialing, clinical, and operations teams to resolve claim blockers, such as missing provider credentials or unapproved services.
- • Ensure all billing workflows align with reimbursement timelines and collections targets, optimizing cash flow for the organization.
- • Continuously identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency, reduce denial rates, and shorten claim turnaround times through process refinement.
- • Perform daily operational tasks with high accuracy under volume, managing multiple payer portals, EHRs, and clearinghouse platforms simultaneously.
- • Adhere strictly to U.S. healthcare billing regulations and compliance standards while handling sensitive patient and financial data.
- • Maintain a consistent focus on operational excellence, ensuring every claim is processed with precision and urgency.
- • Support the broader Revenue Cycle Management team by providing timely updates, data input, and feedback to enhance system functionality and workflow design.
- • Work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment while maintaining accountability for individual performance metrics and deadlines.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for payer-related billing inquiries and ensure all communications are professional, clear, and timely.
🎯 Requirements
- • Prior experience in U.S. healthcare billing or revenue cycle management is required
- • Experience working with Medicare and commercial insurance payers strongly preferred
- • Strong understanding of claims submission, denials management, appeals, and payer follow-up workflows
- • Extremely detail-oriented and organized
- • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- • Comfortable handling high-volume operational work with speed and accuracy
