- • As a Medical Value & Access Director for the CVS/Aetna account at Amgen, you will lead strategically aligned activities to develop objectives and tactics in collaboration with Medical for National and prioritized regional accounts, playing a vital role in advancing patient access to innovative medicines for serious illnesses.
- • Day to day, you will develop and maintain professional relationships with payer, pathways, GPO, trade, and specialty pharmacy decision makers; lead integration of value and total cost of care models; liaise between national/regional payer executives and senior Amgen leadership; synthesize customer insights to inform strategy; serve as the medical point of contact for value and access content across internal teams; lead training initiatives; review utilization and prior authorization criteria; support advisory boards and policy engagement; and travel approximately 30% of the time.
- • You will be part of Amgen’s Medical Affairs organization within a mission-driven culture focused on serving patients with serious illnesses through innovation in Oncology, Inflammation, General Medicine, and Rare Disease, backed by a collaborative, science-based, and award-winning workplace.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in healthcare policy, payer engagement, and medical value demonstration; strengthen cross-functional leadership between Medical and Commercial teams; influence national access strategy; and contribute to improving patient outcomes while advancing your career in a purpose-driven biotech leader.
🎯 Requirements
- • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Medical Science or Payer experience OR Master’s degree and 7 years of Medical Science or Payer experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of Medical Science or Payer experience
- • 5+ years of related Payer/PBM/Pathways/Trade/Specialty Pharmacy customer experience
- • 2+ years of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) experience
- • Evidence of significant impact and rapport with Payer accounts
- • Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to inspire, coach, and develop talent
- • Deep knowledge of managed markets, pharmacoeconomics, population health, and healthcare policy/legislation trends
