📋 Description

• As a Member of Technical Staff, Frontend at Vapi Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of human-computer interaction by building the frontend systems that power voice agents used by over 600,000 developers worldwide. Your work will directly enable businesses to deploy configurable, real-time voice interfaces at scale, accelerating Vapi’s mission to make voice the default interface for enterprise and consumer applications.
• You will rapidly onboard and master Vapi’s real-time assistant configuration system within your first 30 days, gaining deep familiarity with the platform’s architecture, state management, and developer-facing tools. By day 60, you will architect end-to-end features such as multi-modal voice interfaces that combine speech, text, and visual feedback, ensuring seamless user experiences across devices and use cases. By day 90, you will design reusable components, scalable APIs, and intuitive UX patterns that can be adopted across engineering teams, contributing to a cohesive design system that supports rapid feature velocity.
• You will join a high-impact, founder-led engineering culture where 70% of the company consists of previous founders, fostering an environment of ownership, innovation, and rapid execution. The team operates with minimal bureaucracy, empowering engineers to ship meaningful features daily in response to a feature request every 30 minutes — a testament to the product’s momentum and developer demand.
• In this role, you will grow into a full-stack product thinker, gaining exposure to real-time systems, developer experience (DX) design, and platform-level architecture. You’ll have the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor peers, and leave a lasting imprint on a platform that is redefining how businesses interact with their customers through voice.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience building beautiful, high-performance frontend products — ideally at Series B to F stage startups — with a portfolio of work that demonstrates technical excellence and user-centered design.
• Deep expertise in modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, and state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, or Jotai), with a strong grasp of performance optimization, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Experience architecting and shipping complex, real-time user interfaces — particularly those involving audio/video streams, WebSockets, or event-driven architectures — is highly preferred.
• Bonus: Founder experience or having built your own startup from zero to one, demonstrating end-to-end product ownership and entrepreneurial drive.
