- • Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs that power client onboarding, billing, and transaction monitoring systems for a federally chartered digital asset bank.
- • Collaborate directly with compliance, legal, finance, and customer experience teams to ensure systems meet regulatory requirements for anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention, and auditability.
- • Implement and enhance data capture mechanisms for record keeping and auditing, ensuring traceability of all digital asset transactions and user interactions.
- • Build and optimize security-critical infrastructure to support transaction screening, risk detection, and regulatory reporting in alignment with U.S. federal banking standards.
- • Work as part of a full-stack engineering team to improve user-facing experiences through backend enhancements that support front-end functionality and data flow.
- • Integrate with external third-party systems for identity verification, sanctions screening, and financial compliance, ensuring seamless and secure data exchange.
- • Contribute to the development of scalable, high-availability services that handle institutional-grade digital asset custody, staking, and settlement workflows.
- • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and incident response protocols to maintain the highest standards of system integrity and security.
- • Ensure all systems adhere to Anchorage Digital’s security policy, including mandatory in-person onboarding and secure IT setup procedures.
- • Support the company’s mission as the first federally chartered crypto bank by enabling transparent, auditable, and compliant digital asset operations.
- • Document technical designs, data flows, and compliance controls to facilitate internal audits and regulatory examinations.
- • Proactively identify and mitigate risks in backend systems that could compromise regulatory compliance or institutional trust.
- • Engage in continuous learning and development through the Factors of Growth & Impact framework to measure and articulate technical impact and professional growth.
- • Maintain close alignment with cross-functional teams to translate regulatory and business requirements into secure, reliable technical solutions.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Backend Engineer building scalable, secure, and compliant systems in a regulated environment
- • Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Java, or Python
- • Experience with API design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
- • Demonstrated understanding of financial compliance frameworks including AML, KYC, and sanctions screening
- • Ability to work in a high-security environment requiring in-person onboarding and physical identity verification
- • Experience integrating with external compliance and financial systems (e.g., sanctions databases, identity verification providers)
