  • • As a Ministry Coach Intern for Black Campus Ministries (BCM) at InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and expanding the presence of BCM on college campuses across the nation.
  • • This unique internship opportunity is designed for students or recent alumni who are passionate about spiritual development, community building, and fostering cultural awareness within the Black student community.
  • • Your primary focus will be to mentor and empower fellow students, equipping them with the skills and guidance needed to establish and lead thriving Black Campus Ministries.
  • • You will act as a spiritual leader and coach, providing support and direction to student leaders as they navigate the complexities of ministry on their respective campuses.
  • • This role demands a deep commitment to personal spiritual growth, actively maturing in your love for God, His Word, His people of every ethnicity and culture, and His purposes in the world.
  • • You will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day aspects of the ministry, ensuring a healthy and vibrant spiritual team environment that fosters love for one another, ministry partners, and donors.
  • • A key responsibility involves providing spiritual leadership mentoring to students, helping them to grow not only in their faith but also in their capacity to lead others.

  • • You will prepare and submit comprehensive reports on ministry activities and overall progress, providing valuable insights to leadership.
  • • Maintaining detailed databases of student contacts, attendance, and engagement metrics will be essential for strategic planning and outreach.
  • • In the realm of Ministry Partnership Development and Public Relations, you will be tasked with securing personal prayer support through the Vital Intercession Partnership (VIP) team, building a network of prayer warriors.
  • • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with alumni is vital for ongoing support and engagement with the BCM network.
  • • You will represent InterVarsity and BCM within the broader Christian community, acting as an ambassador for the organization's mission and values.
  • • This position requires a commitment to annually affirm InterVarsity's Statement of Faith and an ongoing call to InterVarsity’s Black Campus Ministries and its mission.
  • • You will be expected to have a minimum of one year of BCM ministry or equivalent work experience, demonstrating a foundational understanding of campus ministry.
  • • Experience in establishing a BCM chapter or small group is highly preferred, indicating a proactive and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • • A willingness to receive ongoing training and development is essential for success in this role.
  • • You must be able to contribute to an open and supportive relationship with team members, fostering a collaborative environment.

  • • The time commitment includes an initial orientation with four 1-hour virtual gatherings, a launch gathering in-person in June 2025, and approximately 5-7 hours per month thereafter, including weekly coaching calls, monthly supervisor check-ins, and preparation time.
