• • Join Fulfillment IQ (FIQ), an award-winning consultancy and technology partner at the forefront of transforming logistics technology, as a contract MuleSoft Integration Engineer. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to tackle critical challenges within our production integration environment, which is currently built on open-source Mule (Mule Community Edition).
• • This role is pivotal in addressing existing throughput, latency, and stability issues that are impacting performance under load. As we currently operate without vendor support for this platform, your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing, remediating, and establishing sustainable operational practices.
• • Your primary mission will be to conduct a comprehensive, deep-dive assessment of our current Mule CE integration landscape. This involves meticulously analyzing existing flows, configurations, and dependencies to pinpoint the exact root causes of performance bottlenecks, scalability limitations, and stability concerns.
• • You will be instrumental in optimizing key performance metrics, including throughput, latency, memory usage, and thread management. This will involve implementing advanced tuning techniques and best practices to ensure our integration platform operates at peak efficiency.
• • A significant part of your responsibility will be to enhance our error handling, monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms. The goal is to create a robust system that provides clear visibility into integration health, enables proactive issue detection, and facilitates rapid resolution when problems arise.
• • You will be tasked with defining and implementing industry best practices for integration design, deployment strategies, and ongoing operations. This includes establishing clear guidelines for developing, testing, and deploying integration solutions to ensure consistency and reliability.
• • A critical deliverable will be the establishment of comprehensive operational runbooks, clear performance baselines, and robust governance standards. These artifacts will serve as the foundation for maintaining the stability and predictability of the integration platform long-term.
• • Furthermore, you will provide strategic recommendations for future scalability and platform sustainability. This forward-looking aspect of the role involves identifying potential growth areas, suggesting architectural improvements, and advising on strategies to ensure the platform can meet evolving business needs.

• • The role also involves evaluating and potentially improving the deployment and CI/CD processes for integration artifacts, ensuring that updates and changes are deployed reliably and with minimal downtime.
• • You will play a key role in defining Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the integration platform, and developing the necessary monitoring and alerting to ensure these are met.
