📋 Description

  • • Join FreedomPay, a leading innovator in payment solutions, as a Network Engineer based in our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious, early-career professional eager to make a significant impact on a global, enterprise-scale network infrastructure. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation, robust security, and continuous improvement of the network that powers our critical customer-facing applications across diverse datacenters and cloud environments.
  • • As a Network Engineer, your primary responsibility will be the day-to-day operational excellence of our network. This includes vigilant monitoring of network performance, proactive identification and resolution of potential issues, and meticulous maintenance of all network hardware and software components. You will be the first line of defense, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for our mission-critical systems.
  • • You will play a crucial role in supporting our global datacenters and cloud footprints. This involves managing and troubleshooting complex network topologies, ensuring connectivity, and optimizing traffic flow across these distributed environments. Your work will directly impact the reliability and scalability of our payment processing services, which are relied upon by businesses worldwide.
  • • This position offers an exceptional opportunity for professional growth. You will gain hands-on experience with a wide array of networking technologies and protocols, working within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. We encourage ownership and provide the platform for you to develop your skills, take on challenging projects, and contribute meaningfully to the evolution of our network architecture.
  • • You will serve as a primary point of contact for all network-related support requests. This requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills as you collaborate with internal teams, including Systems Administration, Security Operations, and Application Development, to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently and effectively.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves active participation in scheduled maintenance windows. You will execute planned upgrades, configuration changes, and hardware replacements with precision and care, minimizing any potential disruption to services.
  • • Beyond daily operations, you will contribute significantly to network implementation and improvement projects. This includes assisting in the design, planning, and deployment of new network solutions, as well as identifying opportunities to enhance existing infrastructure for better performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • • You will be involved in the configuration and management of various network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, from leading vendors. Understanding and applying best practices in network configuration, security hardening, and performance tuning will be essential.
  • • Monitoring network traffic patterns, analyzing performance metrics, and generating reports will be part of your routine. You will utilize advanced network monitoring tools to gain insights into network health and identify areas for optimization.
  • • Troubleshooting complex network problems, including connectivity issues, latency, packet loss, and security breaches, will be a regular challenge. You will employ systematic diagnostic approaches and leverage your technical expertise to restore service quickly.
  • • You will work with VPN technologies, ensuring secure remote access for employees and partners.
  • • Understanding and contributing to network security best practices, including firewall rule management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists, is vital to protecting our infrastructure.
  • • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with cloud engineers to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of our network services within cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • • Documentation is important. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date network diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures.
  • • This role provides exposure to enterprise-level network design principles, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP), and network security concepts.
  • • You will be part of a team that is committed to maintaining a highly available and resilient network infrastructure that underpins FreedomPay's success in the global payments industry. Your contributions will directly support our mission to provide secure, reliable, and innovative payment solutions to our clients.
  • • We are looking for someone who is not just technically proficient but also possesses a strong sense of responsibility, a proactive attitude, and a desire to learn and grow within a challenging yet rewarding environment.
