Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Own the commercial destiny of Novartis’ Neuroscience portfolio across the Western United States, leading a 100–300-person field organization that spans Regional Directors, Area Business Leaders, and Territory Account Specialists. You will translate national strategy into locally-relevant, high-impact customer engagements that measurably improve patient access and brand performance.
  • • Serve as the single point of accountability for regional P&L, forecasting, and sales targets, ensuring every dollar invested drives maximum return and every launch milestone is met or exceeded. You will orchestrate cross-functional resources—marketing, market access, patient services, medical affairs, and analytics—to deliver seamless, insight-driven customer experiences.
  • • Champion a culture of bold innovation and inclusive leadership by attracting, developing, and retaining diverse top talent. Through succession planning, individualized coaching, and data-driven performance management, you will build a resilient bench ready to step into larger roles across Novartis.
  • • Translate complex market intelligence—payer policy shifts, reimbursement hurdles, competitive dynamics—into actionable regional strategies. You will personally engage key IDNs, health systems, specialty pharmacies, and academic centers to co-create access solutions that remove barriers for patients living with neurological conditions.
  • • Drive disciplined execution of national campaigns while empowering local teams to tailor messaging and tactics. You will balance brand consistency with regional nuance, leveraging CRM insights, real-time dashboards, and agile test-and-learn loops to continuously refine approach and elevate customer satisfaction.
  • • Lead large-scale change initiatives—new product launches, indication expansions, channel evolutions—by aligning stakeholders, securing resources, and managing risk. Your ability to communicate a compelling vision and motivate teams through ambiguity will determine speed-to-market and long-term share growth.
  • • Optimize resource allocation across 15–20 states, balancing headcount, speaker programs, digital tools, and congress presence to hit quarterly and annual objectives. You will own the regional budget, negotiate vendor contracts, and re-allocate spend dynamically in response to emerging opportunities or threats.
  • • Build and sustain executive-level relationships with regional customers, KOLs, and advocacy groups, positioning Novartis as the partner of choice in neuroscience. Your credibility and scientific acumen will open doors to collaborative research, real-world evidence generation, and policy-shaping initiatives.
  • • Instill a patient-first mindset across the organization, ensuring every strategic decision considers real-world patient journeys, caregiver challenges, and health-equity implications. You will partner with Patient Services to streamline prior authorization, co-pay, and adherence programs that tangibly improve outcomes.
  • • Model Novartis Values & Behaviors—integrity, courage, curiosity, and inclusion—in every interaction. You will serve as a visible culture carrier, celebrating wins, learning from setbacks, and fostering psychological safety so that every team member feels empowered to contribute their best ideas.
  • • Leverage advanced analytics and AI-enabled insights to segment customers, predict demand, and personalize engagement. You will translate data into stories that inspire action, ensuring field teams understand not just what to do, but why it matters for patients and the business.
  • • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards, including PDMA, OIG, and state transparency laws. You will implement rigorous monitoring and coaching mechanisms that safeguard reputation while enabling agile, customer-centric decision-making.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics, or similarly complex sales environments managing large, geographically dispersed teams (100–300 people) as a second-line leader.
  • • Demonstrated success driving sales performance and executing strategy across multi-regional markets, including experience with payer systems, buy-and-bill models, specialty pharmacy, and market access.
  • • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain diverse talent while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • • Ability to travel 60–80 % across a broad geography; must reside within the Western region or within reasonable commuting distance to a major metropolitan airport and hold a valid driver’s license.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive base salary ranging from $204,400 to $379,600 plus performance-based cash incentive and eligibility for annual equity awards.
  • • Comprehensive US benefits package including health, life, and disability coverage, 401(k) with company contribution and match, and generous paid time off (vacation, personal days, holidays, and other leaves).
  • • Remote-first, field-based flexibility with no relocation required, enabling work-life integration across the Western United States.
  • • Industry-leading learning and development programs, tuition assistance, and clear succession pathways to accelerate career growth within Novartis.
