- • The Nevada Riparian Restoration Project Manager will advance The Nature Conservancy’s conservation mission by planning and implementing large-scale wet meadow and riparian restoration projects in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Nevada’s Elko District, contributing to a six-state restoration initiative.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing project designs, securing permits and clearances, contracting and overseeing work crews, managing project budgets, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies, and conducting post-implementation monitoring—often in remote, rugged terrain under variable weather conditions.
- • The role operates within TNC’s Nevada Chapter, collaborating closely with BLM, federal partners, and a Western Community of Practice to share knowledge, solve complex ecological challenges, and build lasting restoration capacity across public lands.
- • The position offers the opportunity to lead impactful conservation work, develop expertise in low-tech process-based restoration, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and contribute to a legacy of resilient riparian ecosystems while growing professionally within a mission-driven, inclusive organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • BA/BS in law, business, or related field and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or equivalent combination
- • Experience negotiating complex agreements
- • Experience communicating with the public and/or media in writing and verbally
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and web browsers
- • Experience designing and implementing restoration projects
- • Valid driver’s license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program
