Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As an OAS Engineer at ReadMe, you will own and evolve the systems powering the API Explorer and API Designer—two critical product surfaces used by thousands of companies to design, validate, and interact with APIs. This role sits at the intersection of developer experience, API design, and product engineering, where you’ll shape how APIs feel and function, not just whether they work.
- • Day to day, you’ll ship meaningful improvements early, define a technical roadmap for OAS-powered surfaces, make big architectural calls about what to evolve or reimagine, and stay ahead of the curve in the fast-moving API tooling landscape by anticipating trends like AI-assisted workflows and new spec versions.
- • You’ll join a small, collaborative team of humans (and one owl) at ReadMe, a company that helps over 5,000 leading startups and tech companies build beautiful, personalized developer hubs—like those for PagerDuty, Samsara, and Nvidia—by turning documentation into interactive experiences that improve how APIs are used and understood.
- • In this role, you’ll learn how ReadMe ingests and renders OpenAPI specs, ship your first improvements within a month, own meaningful parts of the API Explorer or Designer experience within a few months, and within a year define the direction of API tooling at ReadMe, ship major improvements used daily by thousands of developers, and help shape how modern APIs are designed and consumed.
