đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Onboarding Risk Team Lead at Paddle.com Market Limited, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s payment infrastructure by leading a team responsible for evaluating prospective SaaS suppliers and monitoring high-risk accounts during onboarding. Your leadership ensures that Paddle maintains its reputation as a trusted Merchant of Record by enforcing rigorous risk standards, compliance protocols, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, global fintech environment.
  • • You will manage the daily operations of the Onboarding Risk team, including coordinating workflows, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring timely task completion to maintain efficiency and compliance. This involves growing and developing the team through recruitment, coaching, mentorship, and training initiatives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, positivity, and professional growth. You will support complex decision-making by providing expert guidance on high-stakes scenarios, collaborating across departments to resolve challenges, and minimizing potential risks through proactive oversight.
  • • You will document, maintain, and improve risk procedures to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with evolving industry standards and best practices. This includes building internal and external relationships through stakeholder engagement and collaboration with Legal & Compliance, Customer Support, Operations, and Product teams to enhance information sharing and strategic alignment. You will oversee risk management activities such as identifying emerging threats, implementing mitigation strategies, and monitoring overall risk exposure to protect organizational objectives.
  • • In this role, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of high-performing analysts by setting clear goals, priorities, and SLAs, providing ongoing feedback, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities. You will handle complex escalations with timely resolutions, share best practices, and uphold risk processes while applying and enforcing Paddle’s Acceptable Use Policy and scheme/PSP obligations to maintain compliance.
  • • You will drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing false positives and increasing operational efficiencies without increasing loss exposure. This involves preparing executive-ready reports on incidents, trends, and actions, conducting QA reviews on analysts’ cases, creating and maintaining process documentation, and designing and deploying new hire training programs and ongoing learning opportunities.
  • • You will continuously evaluate and improve risk processes and workflows by identifying bottlenecks, incorporating feedback, and testing enhancements to ensure scalability and alignment with industry standards. Your ability to make sound judgment calls based on limited information will be essential in balancing speed with accuracy in dynamic environments, supported by clear and concise communication across all organizational levels.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 4+ years of experience in risk, financial crime, or payments teams, ideally within Merchant Acquiring, E-Commerce, or FinTech
