- • Review clinical documentation to extract cancer and reportable benign tumor data and apply ICDO-O codes accurately.
- • Code, stage, and enter patient diagnosis and treatment information into the registry database using ICD-O, ICD-10-CM, AJCC TNM, SSDI, STORE, and SEER guidelines.
- • Ensure compliance with state and federal mandates requiring reporting of all diagnosed and/or treated malignancies and reportable benign tumors.
- • Perform data quality control activities to maintain accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the oncology registry database.
- • Retrieve and prepare data for annual reporting and support special research studies with accurate data extraction and analysis.
- • Prepare weekly minutes for multi-disciplinary Tumor Conferences, documenting clinical discussions and decisions.
- • Contact patient providers and state registries to gather follow-up information and verify or correct patient records.
- • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information, including verbal, written, and computerized data, and report any breaches of confidentiality to management.
- • Perform additional duties as assigned to support tumor registry operations and quality improvement initiatives.
- • Work 100% remotely with flexible hours, requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or equivalent
- • Current certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) formerly Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
- • 5+ years of experience working in tumor registry as an ODS (CTR)
- • Experience working for a Commission on Cancer (CoC) accredited hospital
- • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling
