- • The Oncology Patient Scheduler 2 role at Umiami SAS (University of Miami/UHealth) is a full-time, remote position responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by coordinating complex oncology treatments and diagnostic procedures for patients across UHealth locations.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling all types of complex treatments with attention to detail, answering incoming phone calls, contacting patients to confirm treatment times, obtaining and verifying demographic and insurance information, and screening data for accuracy when scheduling CTU appointments.
- • The role involves managing high call volumes, educating patients on appointment preparations, utilizing multiple computer applications and scheduling software across network drives, and applying complex medical terminology to review prior imaging reports against current orders for compliance.
- • The incumbent coordinates with referring physicians, radiologists, technologists, and patients to ensure smooth coordination of procedures, notifies appropriate parties about labs or premedication needs, and adheres to University policies while safeguarding assets.
- • The team operates within UHealth — University of Miami Health System, South Florida’s only university-based health system, which integrates leading-edge patient care with groundbreaking research and medical education from the Miller School of Medicine, serving over one million patient encounters annually across more than 100 specialties.
- • In this role, the individual will develop expertise in oncology scheduling protocols, medical terminology, healthcare coordination systems, and patient communication — gaining valuable experience in an academic medical center committed to excellence in teaching, research, and patient care.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School diploma or equivalent
- • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- • Ability to manage high call volumes and deliver exceptional customer service
- • Proficiency in using multiple computer applications and scheduling software
