📋 Description

• Are you a seasoned OpenSearch Engineer with a passion for building robust, scalable, and high-performance search and analytics solutions? Qodeworld is looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team in New York, NY. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, optimizing, and managing our cutting-edge search and analytics infrastructure, primarily leveraging the power of OpenSearch.
• This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a modern technology stack, including significant exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), and a choice of development languages such as .NET or Python. You will be at the forefront of innovation, ensuring our data is not only searchable but also provides deep, actionable insights to our stakeholders.
• Your core responsibilities will revolve around the entire lifecycle of our OpenSearch clusters. This includes architecting new solutions, implementing complex indexing strategies, fine-tuning query performance, and ensuring the overall health, security, and scalability of our search environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and product managers, to understand their needs and translate them into effective search functionalities.
• Key aspects of this role involve developing and maintaining robust data ingestion pipelines. You will design and implement efficient processes for bringing data into OpenSearch from various sources, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness. This might involve working with streaming data, batch processing, or other data integration techniques.
• Performance optimization will be a critical focus. You will continuously monitor cluster performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance query speed, indexing throughput, and resource utilization. This includes tuning OpenSearch configurations, optimizing shard allocation, and implementing effective caching strategies.
• You will also be responsible for the operational aspects of our OpenSearch clusters. This includes setting up monitoring and alerting systems, implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, and managing cluster upgrades and maintenance. Ensuring high availability and fault tolerance will be paramount.
• Security is a non-negotiable aspect of this role. You will implement and enforce security best practices for OpenSearch, including access control, encryption, and vulnerability management, ensuring our data is protected against unauthorized access and threats.
• Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of search relevance and ranking algorithms. Working with product teams, you will help define and implement strategies to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of search results, enhancing the user experience and driving business outcomes.
• This role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be expected to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the stability and reliability of our search infrastructure.
• You will also play a role in evaluating and adopting new OpenSearch features and related technologies. Staying abreast of the latest developments in the search and analytics space will be essential for driving continuous improvement and innovation within Qodeworld.

You will engage with development teams to integrate OpenSearch into their applications, providing guidance on best practices for data modeling, query design, and performance tuning. 🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as an OpenSearch Engineer or in a similar role involving the administration and development of Elasticsearch or OpenSearch clusters.
• Strong proficiency in AWS services relevant to managing and deploying OpenSearch, such as EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
• Hands-on experience with either .NET or Python for developing data ingestion pipelines, custom tools, or integrations with OpenSearch.
• Deep understanding of OpenSearch concepts, including indexing, sharding, replication, query DSL, aggregations, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and optimizing data structures for search performance.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools for distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a methodical approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
