📋 Description

• As the Operations Lead for the UK market, you will be the linchpin of our operational backbone, ensuring the seamless, efficient, and scalable execution of daily operations, internal systems, and customer-facing initiatives. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role where you will not only strategize but also actively participate in building systems, leading teams, and directly addressing execution challenges. Your primary focus will be on translating overarching business objectives into tangible, ground-level success, working in close partnership with the UK Country Manager and the broader leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to shape and scale the operational infrastructure of a leading insurtech platform in a dynamic and rapidly growing market.
• You will be instrumental in defining and executing comprehensive operational strategies tailored to the specific needs and growth trajectory of BJAK's UK business. This involves a deep understanding of market dynamics and a proactive approach to aligning operational plans with BJAK's global objectives. Your strategic vision will be crucial in laying the groundwork for sustained growth and market leadership.
• A core responsibility will be the meticulous management of day-to-day operations across various critical functions. This includes overseeing customer service excellence, ensuring the smooth running of administrative operations, and optimizing internal workflows to guarantee frictionless execution for both our team and our customers. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational efficiency will be paramount.
• You will be tasked with building, mentoring, and developing a high-performing operations and administrative team. This involves fostering a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Your leadership will empower your team to achieve exceptional results and contribute directly to the company's success.
• A significant aspect of your role will be driving process improvement initiatives. This requires a keen ability to identify operational bottlenecks, explore and implement automation opportunities, and introduce robust systems that not only reduce costs but also significantly enhance operational speed and agility.
• You will act as a champion for customer experience, leading the customer support function with a focus on delivering outstanding service. This includes stepping in hands-on during high-stakes situations or escalated customer issues to ensure swift and effective resolution, thereby reinforcing customer loyalty and satisfaction.
• Furthermore, you will oversee all aspects of company administration and internal operations. This encompasses responsibilities such as office management (even in a remote setup, this could involve coordinating resources or virtual office needs), meticulous documentation, effective vendor coordination, and ensuring strict adherence to all internal policies and compliance requirements.
• This role demands a proactive, problem-solving approach. You will be expected to identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies before they impact the business. Your ability to anticipate challenges and implement preventative measures will be highly valued.
• You will play a key role in the onboarding and training of new operational staff, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed within BJAK's operational framework. This includes developing and refining training materials and processes.
• Collaboration will be central to your success. You will work closely with product, engineering, marketing, and sales teams to ensure operational readiness for new product launches, feature rollouts, and market expansion initiatives. Your input will be vital in ensuring that operational capabilities keep pace with business ambitions.
• You will be responsible for establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational functions. Regularly analyzing this data will allow you to identify areas for improvement and demonstrate the impact of your operational strategies.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record in operations, execution, or internal business operations within the tech, fintech, or fast-scaling startup environments.
• Demonstrable experience leading and developing operations and administrative teams in high-expectation, fast-paced settings.
• A strong, hands-on mindset with a proven ability to dive deep and solve problems directly, not just delegate.
• Exceptional organizational, execution, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and process optimization.
• Comfort and proficiency in operating within ambiguous environments, with a demonstrated ability to bring structure and clarity to fast-moving situations.
• Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and influence stakeholders to drive execution, even without formal authority.
