- • Perform a variety of law-related tasks including legal research, drafting legal documents, and maintaining corporate records under established procedures and professional standards.
- • Prepare and file required legal documents with government entities such as Departments of Insurance and Secretaries of State.
- • Maintain corporate books and records in compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
- • Conduct legal and records research to identify relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes, and other pertinent legal materials.
- • Draft legal documents including articles of incorporation, bylaws, written consents, agreements, forms, contracts, and legal memoranda.
- • Work within a structured framework guided by precedent, documented procedures, and professional standards, with moderate interpretation required.
- • Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within designated timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
- • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and adaptability to adjust work priorities as needed.
- • Handle confidential and sensitive legal and corporate information with discretion and maturity.
- • Collaborate effectively with attorneys and cross-functional teams, demonstrating clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- • Support compliance, corporate governance, and auditing initiatives through accurate documentation and research.
- • Work under the supervision of the Assistant Corporate Secretary and Director, ESG Strategy, following direction while exercising independent judgment on routine tasks.
- • Operate exclusively within EST business hours with no required travel, though occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may occur.
- • Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Professional, and Lexis/Nexis to complete daily responsibilities.
- • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to maintain knowledge of legal, regulatory, and corporate governance standards.
- • Support Humana’s mission by ensuring legal and compliance accuracy in corporate operations related to healthcare services, including Medicare and Medicaid.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal studies degree, or paralegal certificate
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Professional, and Lexis/Nexis
- • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
