📋 Description

• The Part-Time Oncology Data Specialist - Certified role is critical to ensuring accurate cancer data collection, coding, and reporting in compliance with national oncology standards, directly supporting cancer surveillance, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation to extract and code cancer diagnoses using ICD-O, ICD-10-CM, AJCC TNM, SSDI, STORE, and SEER guidelines; performing data quality control; preparing tumor conference minutes; retrieving follow-up data from providers and state registries; and maintaining strict confidentiality of all patient information.

• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in oncology data abstraction, contribute to meaningful cancer research and public health reporting, and maintain the highest standards of data integrity while working flexibly part-time from any U.S. location.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Currently certified as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) formerly a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
• 5+ years experience working in tumor registry as an ODS (CTR)
• Experience working for a COC accredited hospital
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, flexible hours available
