  • • As the Partner Director, Head of Technology Partnerships at OpenAI, you will be at the forefront of building and scaling a critical component of our mission: a robust and strategic global partner ecosystem. This role is integral to accelerating customer success, driving enterprise AI adoption, and fostering durable growth, all in service of OpenAI's ambitious goal towards achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).
  • • You will operate within the GTM Partnerships team, taking ownership of a diverse portfolio of Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and technology partnerships. This involves deep, cross-functional collaboration with our Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to ensure strong partner outcomes through disciplined strategy and flawless execution.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and expand OpenAI's ISV and technology partner portfolio. This entails forging strategic relationships with leading enterprise platforms and software providers, and translating shared objectives into scalable integrations and go-to-market strategies that significantly boost customer adoption of our AI technologies.
  • • You will serve as the single accountable owner for a set of high-impact partnerships. This leadership position requires you to set clear direction, establish a consistent and effective operating cadence, and meticulously align internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • • Success in this role hinges on your strong judgment, commanding executive presence, and your adeptness at navigating complex, cross-functional initiatives that span product development, engineering, security protocols, and go-to-market strategies.
  • • You will be tasked with defining and executing partnership strategies and priorities. This includes developing comprehensive joint plans, setting ambitious goals, and creating a detailed execution roadmap tailored to key partner segments.
  • • A core part of your role will be to establish and manage a durable operating model for these partnerships. This encompasses defining clear governance structures, ensuring seamless stakeholder alignment, establishing effective escalation paths, and maintaining a consistent execution cadence.
  • • You will work hand-in-hand with our Product and Engineering teams to shape and deliver integrations that not only meet but exceed enterprise requirements for reliability, security, and scalability, ensuring our partners can confidently build on OpenAI's technology.
  • • Close collaboration with our Security, Legal, and Privacy teams is paramount. You will ensure that all joint initiatives adhere to the highest standards of trust, compliance, and robust commercial frameworks, safeguarding both OpenAI and our partners.
  • • You will be instrumental in building and driving joint Go-To-Market (GTM) plans with our Field and Marketing teams. This involves developing comprehensive enablement programs, crafting compelling solution positioning, and orchestrating coordinated execution to maximize market impact.
  • • Performance tracking against clearly defined metrics will be a continuous activity. You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, analyzing performance data, and driving continuous improvement across all partnerships and programs to ensure optimal results.
  • • You will act as a key representative of OpenAI, engaging with senior executives at partner organizations. Your role will be to drive strategic alignment, proactively resolve issues, and strategically expand the scope and impact of our partnerships over time, fostering long-term value creation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Significant experience leading strategic technology partnerships, alliances, or platform ecosystem programs within the enterprise software or cloud computing sectors.
  • • A proven track record of successfully building and scaling technology partnerships from the initial strategy phase through to execution, integration, and joint go-to-market initiatives.
  • • Strong technical and product fluency, enabling effective collaboration with solutions engineering and security teams, without requiring hands-on implementation expertise.
  • • Demonstrated experience navigating complex enterprise requirements related to security, privacy, governance, and compliance within partner-led initiatives.
  • • Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to drive alignment and consensus across Product, Engineering, Sales/GTM, Legal, and partner organizations.
  • • Strong executive presence, adept negotiation capabilities, and comfort operating effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous, and high-stakes environments.
