- • The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients at Mercy Health, playing a critical role in shaping the patient experience through compassionate, professional service aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling appointments, registering patients, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining pre-certifications, ensuring financial clearance, and collecting co-pays or deductibles prior to visits, all while maintaining accurate and complete patient data in electronic health records.

🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- • 1–3 years of clerical and customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical office setting.
- • Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance plans, Medicare guidelines, and healthcare billing processes is strongly preferred.
- • Proficiency in using computer systems, including data entry, 10-key calculator, and standard office software.
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong telephone etiquette and the ability to build positive relationships with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining high accuracy.
