📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of the company’s payment backend infrastructure and related services to support 100M+ users across 30+ AI-first products.
• Architect and implement integrations with payment service providers (PSPs) including Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, and other global payment gateways, ensuring seamless transaction flows.
• Build and maintain robust systems for payment processing, reconciliation, refunds, chargebacks, and fraud detection with high availability and compliance standards.
• Enhance system stability, performance, and observability of payment-critical services through monitoring, testing, and proactive incident response.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and participating in architectural decision-making with product and engineering teams.
• Ensure all payment systems comply with PCI DSS standards and industry best practices for security, data privacy, and audit readiness.
• Develop and scale serverless architectures on AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, and ECS to handle high-volume, low-latency payment transactions.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate deployment, testing, and rollback procedures for payment services.
• Utilize Node.js and TypeScript as the primary stack for building scalable, type-safe backend services with PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, security, and analytics teams to align payment features with business goals and user needs.
• Drive improvements in system reliability by implementing comprehensive observability tools and metrics tracking for payment workflows.
• Support a fully remote work environment with optional access to offices in Kyiv or Warsaw, ensuring seamless collaboration across global time zones.
• Contribute to internal engineering culture through knowledge sharing, speaking clubs in English with native speakers, and participation in internal and external tech events.
• Leverage an annual budget to cover up to 50% of costs for professional conferences, training, and educational events to advance technical expertise.
• Maintain a high-performance culture where impact is measured by ownership, learning speed, and initiative rather than years of experience.
• Support team well-being through twice-weekly online yoga sessions and promote mental health as a core component of sustainable engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a technical lead, team lead, or lead engineer in a payment, fintech, or e-commerce environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with payment systems, PSP integrations (Stripe, PayPal, Adyen), and compliance with PCI DSS standards.
• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, AWS-native services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS), PostgreSQL with ORM, Serverless Framework, and GitHub Actions.
