- • As a Payment Operations Specialist at WeTravel, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of payment systems while supporting seamless travel experiences for users worldwide. This role sits at the intersection of fintech, risk management, and customer operations, where precision, vigilance, and adaptability directly contribute to the company’s mission of powering the world’s best group travel experiences.
- • You will be responsible for payment screening, transaction monitoring, fraud and risk management, customer and operations support, cross-functional collaboration, and ownership of ad-hoc operational projects. Your day-to-day will involve reviewing high-value and high-risk transactions, identifying suspicious patterns, resolving customer payment issues via email, phone, or video, and partnering with teams across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Product, and Legal to improve workflows and strengthen controls.
- • You will join a global, remote-first team led by Siobhán, Head of Payment Risk & Operations, based in Dublin, Ireland. WeTravel is an international, travel-loving company passionate about innovation and adventure, operating with a strong commitment to compliance, scalability, and user trust in the payments ecosystem.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in payment operations, fraud detection, and risk-based decision-making while gaining exposure to cross-functional initiatives across fintech and travel technology. You’ll sharpen your analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment where ownership, curiosity, and adaptability are highly valued—positioning you for growth in operations, risk, or product-focused careers.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Technology, Operations, or a related field.
- • 2-4 years of experience in an analytical, support, or operations role with a customer-facing component, including handling sensitive or complex issues via email, phone, or video calls.
- • Familiarity with payment operations, including card payments, refunds, disputes, KYC, or reconciliations.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and make sound judgment calls.
- • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and taking on responsibilities beyond a fixed job scope; adaptable, curious, and eager to learn.
- • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to process improvements across operational domains.
