This role is critical in grounding our optimisation decisions in high-quality, trusted data, moving beyond assumptions to drive sustained improvements in conversion rates, payment recovery, and overall revenue.
• As a Payments Performance Analyst at Fanvue, you will be instrumental in bringing clarity, structure, and analytical rigour to our payment operations. This is a high-impact role focused on uncovering deep insights into authorisation success rates, decline reasons, retry strategies, and recovery processes. You will provide the essential visibility and data confidence needed to power our payment optimisation efforts and inform strategic roadmap decisions at scale.
• Your core responsibilities will involve meticulously analysing key payment performance indicators. This includes dissecting authorisation rates to understand success and failure points, investigating the root causes of payment declines across various segments, evaluating the effectiveness of retry logic, and optimising recovery strategies for failed transactions. You will also delve into issuer responses to identify patterns and systemic issues.
• A significant part of your role will be to investigate performance trends and anomalies across different geographical regions, diverse payment methods (e.g., credit cards, digital wallets), and various user journeys within our platform. By identifying these patterns, you will be able to surface critical insights and pinpoint the underlying root causes impacting payment outcomes.
• You will play a crucial role in supporting our product and engineering teams by contributing to experimentation. This involves assisting in the design of A/B tests for payment-related features or strategies, rigorously analysing the results of these experiments, and providing clear interpretations to guide future development.
• Building and maintaining robust, trusted dashboards for core payments Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be a key deliverable. These dashboards will serve as the single source of truth for payment performance, enabling real-time monitoring and informed decision-making across the organisation.
• You will be responsible for continuously monitoring payment performance, proactively flagging any emerging risks, potential issues, or significant optimisation opportunities before they impact the business.
• Ultimately, your success in this role will be measured by your ability to deliver clear, concise, and actionable insights to senior stakeholders, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Commercial Leads, enabling them to make data-driven decisions that enhance user experience and business outcomes.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience in an analytical role within payments, fintech, e-commerce, or a closely related domain, with a strong understanding of payment flows and common challenges.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis, coupled with a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with data visualization tools and dashboard creation (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) to present complex data clearly.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
