- • The Payroll Associate role at Deel is an entry-level position critical to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a globally distributed workforce, directly supporting the company’s mission to unlock global opportunity by guaranteeing employees are paid correctly and compliantly across 150+ countries.
- • This role plays a foundational part in Deel’s payroll operations, where precision and compliance are paramount to maintaining trust with employees and clients alike, especially as the company scales rapidly amid a $17.3B valuation and $1B ARR.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in processing payroll data for employees, helping maintain accurate employee records, verifying and reconciling employee data such as salaries, hours worked, and deductions, supporting payroll tax calculations and filings, providing employee support for payroll-related inquiries, and helping ensure compliance with evolving payroll laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- • The Payroll Associate will work closely with payroll and HR teams to uphold data integrity, respond to routine payroll questions, and contribute to audit readiness by maintaining organized, confidential records.
- • Operating within Deel’s fully remote, globally distributed culture, the associate will collaborate across time zones with teammates in over 100 countries, gaining exposure to international payroll complexities, multi-currency processing, and compliance frameworks in regions such as LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.
- • This role offers a strong launchpad for a career in global payroll or HR operations, allowing the individual to develop core competencies in payroll systems, statutory deductions, tax filing basics, and HRIS navigation while working with cutting-edge AI-powered payroll infrastructure.
- • Over time, the Payroll Associate can build expertise that leads to advancement into senior payroll specialist, payroll analyst, or HR operations roles, particularly within Deel’s fast-growing global teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • 1-3 years of experience in a payroll support or administrative role
- • Proficiency in English (90% fluency required)
- • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with spreadsheets and HR/payroll systems
- • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- • Good communication skills for assisting employees and collaborating with teams
