  • • The Payroll Manager oversees strategic and operational leadership of payroll services across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while driving vendor and technology optimization and leading a high-performing team.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing end-to-end payroll activities such as audits, reconciliations, year-end processes, garnishments, benefits, equity, and special payments; ensuring compliance with IRS, CRA, Puerto Rico Hacienda, and state/provincial/local laws; leading payroll controls and risk mitigation; maintaining jurisdictional tax setups; safeguarding sensitive employee data; leading and developing payroll specialists and analysts; providing technical expertise across North American jurisdictions; supporting workforce planning and capability building; delivering payroll dashboards and KPIs; using analytics to improve operations; reporting insights to Finance, Total Rewards, and Accounting; leading multi-country payroll operations; developing regional payroll strategies; partnering with senior HR, Finance, and Technology leaders; serving as the primary escalation point for complex payroll and compliance issues; demonstrating expertise in enterprise payroll systems; leveraging payroll data and AI-enabled insights for decision-making; identifying automation opportunities; applying AI responsibly with human oversight; managing vendor relationships (ADP, Deel); partnering with HRIS/Workday teams; influencing payroll technology roadmaps; leading issue resolution and corrective actions; collaborating with HR, Legal, Accounting, Total Rewards, and Time & Attendance teams; supporting M&A due diligence and payroll integrations; and partnering with global payroll leaders on shared services design and governance.

  • • The Payroll Manager can achieve operational excellence in multi-jurisdictional payroll, lead digital transformation through AI and automation, develop a high-performing team, influence global payroll strategy, gain expertise in enterprise systems like Workday and ADP, strengthen cross-functional partnerships with Finance and HR, and drive compliance and process improvements in a complex global environment while advancing their leadership in payroll technology and shared services.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 7 years of progressive payroll experience with significant U.S. multistate exposure
  • • Strong experience with Canadian and Puerto Rico payroll
  • • Deep knowledge of payroll laws and compliance across North America
  • • Experience managing multi-country payroll teams or leading a payroll function
  • • Proficiency with Workday and major payroll systems (ADP, Deel, etc.)
  • • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills
  • • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced, complex global environment
  • • Experience in a shared services or Center of Excellence environment
  • • Above average computer literacy (e.g., Excel, Word, vendor applications)
  • • Strong organizational abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills
