- • As a Payroll Operations Lead for LATAM, you will own end-to-end payroll processes across key Central American countries, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery while driving standardization and automation initiatives.
- • Day to day, you will act as a subject matter expert for Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras, processing in-house payroll from data collection to statutory filings, managing exceptions, reconciling accounts, and partnering with Finance, Product, and Implementation teams to align operations.
- • You will join Remote’s global Payroll Operations team within the Operations division, a fully remote, async-first company solving global employment challenges with innovation, AI, and a commitment to fair compensation and employee growth.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in LATAM payroll compliance, lead process improvements, mentor peers, and contribute to scaling payroll excellence across emerging markets—directly impacting operational excellence and employee trust.
🎯 Requirements
- • Several years of experience in LATAM payroll with strong exposure to Central America, particularly Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
- • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes independently, including in-house processing, statutory filings, tax obligations, and social security compliance.
- • Strong understanding of local tax regulations, social security requirements, and labor laws across assigned countries, with experience in payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
- • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken), and experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Product, or Implementation teams.
- • Familiarity with payroll systems and tools; experience with automation or process improvements is a plus.
