- • As a Payroll Risk & Compliance Expert for UK&I, you will be the accountable owner of payroll compliance for your region, ensuring Remote meets and anticipates regulatory standards through deep expertise in local legislation and its application to payroll systems and processes.
- • Day to day, you will translate complex statutory rules into product requirements, lead audits and investigations, design scalable compliance frameworks, mentor teams, and partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Support to embed compliance into decision-making and product design.
- • You will join Remote’s Payroll Strategy and Compliance team, a globally distributed group focused on building compliant, automated global payroll at scale, operating asynchronously across continents with a mission to enable businesses to hire and manage international teams compliantly.
- • In this role, you will develop strategic systems thinking, influence product architecture, lead high-impact compliance programs, and grow your expertise in global payroll legislation while shaping Remote’s compliance capability as a trusted advisor and mentor.
🎯 Requirements
- • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for the UK and/or Ireland, including how legislation translates into payroll calculations and system logic.
- • Proven experience leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
- • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
- • Strong communication and influencing skills across Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.
- • Confident investigator with sound judgment in high-risk or sensitive compliance scenarios.
- • Mentor and coach who grows team capability through training, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
