- • As the Payroll Risk & Compliance Principal for the Nordics, you hold formal statutory accountability for Norwegian payroll assignments under the Norwegian Accountants Act as the named Oppdragsansvarlig, ensuring compliance across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
- • You will embed Nordic legislation into product logic and systems, translate complex legal requirements into scalable technical designs, lead audits and regulatory readiness, and mentor teams to elevate compliance capability across the organisation.
- • You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, and Operations to architect compliance into Remote’s payroll platform from the ground up, blending deep subject-matter expertise with strategic systems thinking and innovation in automation and AI.
- • You will build thought leadership through documentation and industry engagement, develop future compliance leaders via coaching programs, and drive innovation in rule-building and AI-assisted compliance tooling while thriving in an async, fully distributed environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Active Autorisert Regnskapsfører licence issued by Finanstilsynet (mandatory)
- • Deep Norwegian payroll expertise including hands-on experience with A-melding reporting, NAV processes, pension administration, Altinn.no workflows, and GRFS standards
- • Working knowledge of payroll and employment compliance in Sweden, Denmark, and/or Finland with ability to build regional ownership
- • Ability to convert statutory rules into structured, build-ready product requirements, understand payroll logic and tax calculations from a systems perspective, and lead audits or compliance programs
- • Skill in translating complex regulatory requirements into clear guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, and elevating team capability through mentoring and documentation
