Our mission extends beyond our own operations; we aim to inspire other companies to embrace global talent acquisition and contribute to local economic development.
- • In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for our employees across Croatia and Serbia. You will be the go-to expert for all payroll-related matters, acting as a vital link between our employees, HR, Finance, and external payroll providers. - • You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring adherence to all local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies in both Croatia and Serbia. This includes understanding and applying complex payroll calculations, deductions, and contributions specific to each country's legal framework.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to maintain the integrity and accuracy of payroll data. You will meticulously review employee data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and benefits adjustments, ensuring all information is correctly entered and processed in the payroll system.
- • You will collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with other HR and financial systems. This includes reconciling payroll reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and providing accurate payroll summaries for financial reporting purposes.

You will provide clear, concise, and timely responses to questions regarding pay slips, deductions, tax information, and other payroll-related concerns, fostering a positive employee experience.
- • You will stay abreast of all legislative changes and updates related to payroll, taxation, and social security in Croatia and Serbia. Proactively identifying potential impacts on payroll processes and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance.
- • You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of all required statutory reports to government authorities in both countries, ensuring deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained.
- • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems. Identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and best practice implementation to enhance the overall payroll function.
- • This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex payroll issues efficiently and effectively.
- • You will play a key role in audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
- • You will also be involved in the onboarding of new employees from a payroll perspective, ensuring they understand the payroll process and have their queries addressed.
- • Furthermore, you will assist in developing and updating payroll policies and procedures to reflect current legislation and company best practices.
- • Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that Remote's compensation philosophy, which emphasizes pay equity and fairness, is accurately reflected in every payroll run.
- • This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-growing, globally distributed company. You will be at the forefront of ensuring our employees in Croatia and Serbia are compensated accurately and efficiently, contributing directly to Remote's mission of connecting talent with opportunity worldwide.
- • You will manage relationships with any third-party payroll providers, ensuring service level agreements are met and that their processes align with Remote's standards.
- • The role demands a high level of attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- • You will be a key contributor to the Total Rewards and People Enablement teams, sharing insights and collaborating on compensation and benefits strategies.
- • Ultimately, you will be the guardian of payroll accuracy and compliance for our Croatian and Serbian operations, ensuring a smooth and reliable experience for our valued employees.
