📋 Description

• The Payroll Specialist Lead - Ukraine is a critical individual contributor role within Remote’s global payroll organization, responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll operations in Ukraine while contributing to the scalability and improvement of global payroll processes.
• Day to day, the role involves owning end-to-end payroll execution for assigned jurisdictions, validating inputs and calculations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, resolving discrepancies, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to process improvements and automation initiatives.
• The Payroll Operations team at Remote is part of a globally distributed, async-first workforce spanning 6 continents, focused on building a best-in-class HR platform that enables compliant international hiring and payroll for businesses worldwide.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Ukrainian payroll regulations, gain experience with global payroll systems and automation tools, develop cross-functional collaboration skills, and contribute to scalable operational processes that support Remote’s mission of navigating global employment compliantly.

🎯 Requirements

• Meaningful mid-senior career experience in Ukrainian payroll operations, including hands-on responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing in Ukraine
• Experience managing payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations, with exposure to different payroll systems and local regulatory frameworks
• Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in payroll tools and data analysis using in-house and external platforms
• Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency
• Strong written and oral communicator, comfortable working in asynchronous and globally distributed environments
