- • As a Payroll Strategy & Compliance Expert for Eastern Europe, you will be the accountable owner of payroll compliance for your region, ensuring Remote meets and anticipates regulatory standards across its global payroll platform.
- • Day to day, you will translate complex local legislation into scalable product requirements, lead audits and investigations, design scalable processes and governance frameworks, mentor internal teams, and partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Operations to embed compliance into decision-making.
- • You will join Remote’s Payroll Strategy and Compliance team, a globally distributed group focused on building compliant, automated payroll systems at scale, operating asynchronously across six continents with a mission to simplify global employment for businesses of all sizes.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in translating statutory rules into system logic, lead high-impact compliance programs, influence product design with regulatory insight, and grow as a systems thinker and mentor shaping Remote’s global compliance capability.
🎯 Requirements
- • Deep expertise in payroll and employment compliance for your country/region, including how legislation translates into payroll calculations and system logic.
- • Proven experience leading audits, regulatory reviews, or country-level compliance programs.
- • Experience partnering with technical teams to convert statutory rules into product requirements.
- • Strong communication and influencing skills across Product, Engineering, Legal, Support, and Senior Leadership.
- • Ability to lead investigations and exercise sound judgment in high-risk or sensitive compliance scenarios.
- • Experience as a mentor or coach who grows team capability through training, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
