Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Serve as the founding People Data Analytics Lead, building Harvey’s people analytics function from the ground up with a focus on connecting the full employee lifecycle — recruiting, onboarding, engagement, performance, mobility, retention, and exits — into a single, actionable narrative
- • Own the vision and roadmap for Harvey’s people data infrastructure, partnering with Data Engineering and Security to design and implement a scalable data layer in Snowflake (or similar), including role-based access controls and data governance policies
- • Consolidate workforce data from multiple HR systems including Workday, Ashby, Envoy, and Culture Amp, and establish data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy and reliability at scale
- • Define and maintain Harvey’s official people metrics dictionary, standardizing measurements for headcount, attrition, hiring velocity, and workforce trends across all teams and functions
- • Design predictive and diagnostic frameworks to forecast headcount needs, model attrition risk, segment the workforce, and benchmark against market trends — with emphasis on explaining the ‘why’ behind workforce dynamics
- • Transform people analytics from reporting to intervention by identifying leading indicators of organizational risk, manager behavior patterns, and operational friction before they escalate into systemic issues
- • Build executive-level dashboards that provide clear, cuttable visibility into workforce metrics by organization, region, and function, directly informing strategic leadership decisions
- • Create a self-service foundation for partner teams (Total Rewards, Recruiting Ops, PBPs, Finance) by designing tooling, documentation, and frameworks that enable independent insight generation without dependency on the analytics team
- • Drive alignment across People Ops, Recruiting Ops, People Systems, and Finance to establish consistent reporting cadences and ensure analytics answers the most critical strategic people questions
- • Set the standard for people data craftsmanship at Harvey by reviewing work, enforcing data standards, and mentoring partner teams on data literacy, dashboard design, and self-serve analytics
- • Leverage AI-native workflows daily to automate repetitive analysis, accelerate insights, and scale impact — integrating AI tools as core force multipliers in all aspects of the role
- • Operate with decisiveness, simplicity, and a ‘job’s not finished’ mindset, prioritizing action over perfection and driving continuous improvement in how workforce data informs business outcomes
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in people analytics, HR data, or workforce analytics, ideally at a high-growth tech company
- • Track record of building people analytics functions, frameworks, or methodologies from scratch
- • Strong SQL proficiency for complex querying, data validation, and collaboration with data engineers on schema design
- • Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake strongly preferred)
- • Experience with at least one data visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- • Direct experience with Workday (HRIS) and an applicant tracking system (ATS); understanding of HRIS data structure and common data integrity issues
🏖️ Benefits
- • Compensation range of $180,000 - $270,000 USD depending on location
- • Opportunity to shape a generational company at a critical inflection point with 1500+ customers in 60+ countries
- • Work in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment with a team committed to decisiveness, simplicity, and continuous improvement
- • Access to AI-native workflows and tools designed to amplify impact and reduce manual effort
