Our intuitive digital platform, self-service tools, AI-powered pricing, and unique Beam Perks rewards program create a simple, smart, and engaging experience for brokers, employers, and members alike.
- • The People Team at Beam Benefits is instrumental in cultivating a strong and supportive employee experience. We achieve this through the establishment of clear processes, reliable support mechanisms, and a commitment to operational excellence. As a People Operations and Payroll Specialist, you will be a vital component of our HR operations, ensuring the seamless and accurate functioning of critical behind-the-scenes processes.
- • You will serve as the operational backbone of the People Team, taking ownership of the payroll process to guarantee that all employees are compensated accurately and punctually. Your responsibilities will extend to meticulously maintaining employee records, ensuring all required documentation is in order, and consistently managing compliance-related processes. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives on detail, takes immense pride in accuracy, and possesses a strong sense of follow-through.
- • We are seeking a candidate who is highly organized, consistently responsive, and deeply dependable. If you enjoy problem-solving, take satisfaction in maintaining clean and efficient systems, and want to be the go-to person for navigating HR processes, this role is for you. You will approach your work with a strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, and a genuine service mindset. The dynamic nature of a growing company means that no two days will be exactly the same, offering a stimulating and evolving work environment.
- • Your experience supporting payroll operations in a fast-paced setting will be invaluable. You should be comfortable managing recurring processes and adhering to strict deadlines. A keen eye for detail is essential; you should be adept at identifying discrepancies and proactively investigating and resolving them. Collaboration and clear communication are key, as is the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and care.
- • This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the employee experience by simplifying processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining a high level of organization within the People Team's operations. You will be comfortable working with various systems and documentation, taking pride in ensuring every detail is correct.
- • Key Responsibilities will include:
- • Processing biweekly payroll runs with meticulous attention to detail, including reviewing employee changes, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy.
- • Coordinating and processing off-cycle payments, payroll corrections, and final paychecks efficiently.
- • Serving as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing timely and accurate resolutions to discrepancies.
- • Maintaining comprehensive and organized employee personnel files, ensuring all required documentation is up-to-date and compliant.
- • Managing the I-9 verification process and tracking employment eligibility for all new hires.
- • Proactively tracking work authorization and re-verification deadlines to ensure ongoing compliance.
- • Responding to unemployment claims and fulfilling employment verification requests accurately and promptly.
- • Coordinating background checks and ensuring all required new hire documentation is collected and processed.
- • Ensuring that all required federal, state, and local postings, notices, and acknowledgments are completed, distributed, and recorded.
- • Monitoring and responding to the shared People Team inbox, effectively routing requests to the appropriate team members.
- • Providing employees with clear guidance on standard HR forms, policies, and processes.
- • Accurately entering and updating employee data within HR systems as directed.
- • Supporting the collection and documentation tracking for new hire onboarding processes.
- • Preparing necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
- • Maintaining accurate and organized payroll and compliance records for easy retrieval and review.
- • Identifying opportunities to enhance administrative workflows and documentation processes, particularly through automation.
- • Supporting special projects and various initiatives undertaken by the People Team.
- • This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions and directly contributes to a positive employee experience by ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all payroll and HR administrative tasks.
