Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As a People Operations Manager at Vynca, you will serve as the operational backbone of the People function, ensuring seamless payroll, benefits, compliance, and HRIS management for a rapidly growing, distributed workforce of 220 employees across multiple states. Your work directly enables clinicians and care navigators to focus on delivering high-quality care to patients with serious illness, making your role essential to the organization’s mission of providing comprehensive care for more quality days at home.
  • You will own end-to-end payroll processing across all states, oversee benefits administration including open enrollment and carrier relationships, manage multi-state tax and employment registrations, maintain HRIS integrity and reporting, lead compliance efforts for federal and state regulations, and directly manage and develop the Sr. Payroll & Benefits Administrator and HR Compliance Specialist while partnering with the Chief People Officer on operational strategy.
  • Vynca is a mission-driven, close-knit community guided by core values of Excellence, Compassion, Curiosity, and Integrity, dedicated to transforming care for individuals with complex needs. The People team operates with a deep sense of purpose, treating compliance and operational excellence not as bureaucracy but as an extension of care for employees who serve patients nationwide.
  • In this role, you will develop expertise in scaling people operations infrastructure in a high-growth, regulated environment, strengthen your leadership and strategic partnership skills with HR and finance leaders, and gain deep exposure to multi-state compliance, clinical workforce complexities, and HRIS optimization — positioning you for advancement into senior People leadership roles.

🎯 Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive HR operations or payroll/benefits experience, with at least 2 years in a management role
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-state payroll and employment compliance (20+ states strongly preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state wage and hour law, benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA), and employment tax requirements
  • Hands-on HRIS experience; strong preference for candidates with experience in Rippling
  • Track record of building or improving people operations infrastructure in a high-growth organization
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data — ability to build reports and tell the story behind the numbers

🏖️ Benefits

  • Fully remote position with flexibility to work from home
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care through supporting clinical teams
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays
  • Professional development stipend and support for continued learning
  • Wellness programs and employee assistance resources
  • Equity participation in a mission-driven, growing healthcare technology company
