📋 Description

• As People Operations Manager at Cradle Bio B.V., you will serve as the architect of internal team experience and corporate foundation, driving People Operations and employee experience by balancing high-touch people management with high-stakes Business Operations in a fast-growing Series B biotech startup.
• You will own the end-to-end execution of the employee lifecycle, from seamless contracting and visa renewals to coordinating laptop procurement and supporting monthly payroll and benefits cycles, while building and improving operational systems that scale with the company.
• You will act as the primary point of contact for global benefits across the Netherlands and Switzerland, managing coordination for growing US and remote teams, and administering employee grants while supporting fundraising cycles through investor data room management.
• You will manage the administration and analysis of employee engagement surveys, using insights to execute initiatives that elevate the daily experience of being a 'Cradler' and strengthen team culture across distributed locations.
• You will contribute to high-impact operations projects including overhauling the Knowledge Management structure, setting up the US office operational footprint, and leading pension reviews, ensuring smooth transitions from design to reality.
• You will partner closely with the COO and cross-functional teams to connect dots across People, Finance, and Legal domains, ensuring operational changes are understood and implemented with precision and empathy.
• You will leverage strong numerical intuition and comfort with Excel/Google Sheets to manage data-heavy tasks such as equity grants, payroll inputs, and survey analysis, turning data into actionable people insights.
• You will help sustain and evolve Cradle’s award-winning team culture in Zurich and Amsterdam, supporting a team of ~75 people with competitive compensation, generous equity, and career progression opportunities in a mission-driven environment focused on AI-guided protein discovery.

🎯 Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in an operational, generalist, or analytical role with a lean to people empathy (e.g., startup ops, consulting, or project management)
• A track record of building or improving processes in fast-changing startup environments, with ability to spot inefficiencies, design fixes, and see them through
• Comfort connecting the dots across different operational domains (People, Finance, Legal) and understanding how changes in one area ripple into others
• High 'numerical intuition': Comfort with Excel/Google Sheets for managing data-heavy tasks like equity grants, payroll inputs, or survey analysis
• A versatile communicator who can handle sensitive employee topics with empathy and technical legal documents with precision
• Ability to be in the Amsterdam or Zurich office at least 3 days a week
