- • As a People Partner for the Go-to-Market (GTM) organization at Newsela, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing talent strategies that drive the success of our Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams.
- • You will serve as a critical, trusted advisor to GTM leaders, offering strategic guidance and hands-on support across a spectrum of people-related initiatives, including talent planning, organizational design, performance management, leadership development, and employee relations.
- • Your primary objective will be to translate overarching business goals into actionable people strategies, fostering the development of high-performing, scalable, and deeply engaged teams.
- • Reporting directly to the VP of People, you will cultivate a profound understanding of the GTM organization's strategic objectives, operational cadences, and unique challenges.
- • This deep understanding will enable you to proactively identify potential risks, uncover opportunities for growth, and develop innovative people-centric solutions.
- • You will adeptly balance strategic thinking with practical, day-to-day execution, providing pragmatic advice that supports both immediate business needs and the long-term health and vitality of the organization.
- • A key responsibility will be partnering closely with GTM leaders to champion talent planning, refine performance management processes, optimize organizational structures, and enhance overall team effectiveness.
- • You will act as a dedicated coach and insightful thought partner for managers and leaders, guiding them on critical aspects such as leadership effectiveness, constructive feedback delivery, performance calibration, and individual employee development pathways.
- • You will provide expert counsel to leaders navigating complex employee relations matters, ensuring that all outcomes are thoughtful, consistently applied, and fully compliant with legal requirements, working collaboratively with our Legal and People Operations teams.
- • Support will extend to crucial workforce planning efforts, encompassing detailed headcount planning, thoughtful role design, equitable leveling frameworks, and the establishment of clear career pathing across various GTM teams.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Recruiting team and GTM leaders to strategically shape hiring initiatives, design effective interview processes, and ensure readiness for onboarding new talent into critical roles.
- • You will take ownership of leading and supporting performance management cycles, from the initial setting of ambitious goals and rigorous calibration sessions to facilitating promotion discussions and guiding individual development planning.
- • A data-driven approach is essential; you will leverage people and performance data to discern emerging trends, identify potential risks, and pinpoint areas of opportunity, translating these insights into concrete, actionable recommendations for leadership.
- • You will play a vital role in supporting change management initiatives, whether related to organizational restructures, leadership transitions, the implementation of new strategic initiatives, or the scaling of teams to meet growing demands.
- • Cross-functional collaboration will be key, working hand-in-hand with People Operations and Recruiting to ensure the seamless delivery of integrated and effective people solutions.
- • You will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and leader-ready materials and communications to effectively support the rollout and adoption of people programs, organizational changes, and strategic talent initiatives.
- • This role requires a proactive, strategic, and empathetic approach to HR, ensuring that people are at the forefront of business decisions and that Newsela continues to be an exceptional place to work for its GTM teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–5+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner or similar strategic HR role, ideally supporting Sales and Customer-facing teams.
- • Strong experience coaching leaders on performance, team dynamics, and leadership challenges.
- • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity, with the ability to translate business needs into practical, scalable people solutions.
- • Solid understanding of employment laws and compliance considerations (e.g., FLSA, contractor classifications) and knowing when to escalate appropriately.
- • Data-informed and able to identify patterns and insights that drive better people decisions.
- • Ability to balance empathy and rigor, advocating for employees while supporting business outcomes.
- • Excellent communication, trust-building, and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
