📋 Description

• The Physical Education, Health, & Life Skills Teacher for MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS) plays a vital role in guiding students through a self-paced, asynchronous curriculum focused on physical education, health, and life skills, providing personalized feedback, coaching, and mentorship to support student growth and success in a fully remote environment.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include grading and providing comprehensive feedback on student assignments in PE, Health, and Life Skills courses; hosting weekly virtual group tutoring sessions; advising a caseload of up to 30 students through quarterly check-ins and personalized support plans; identifying and supporting struggling students through tiered interventions; serving as the primary point of contact for parents and students; contributing to school-wide initiatives and extracurricular clubs; and fostering a positive school culture through proactive communication and ownership of improvement opportunities.

MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS), launched in 2022 and accredited in 2023, serves students in grades 7–12 and has grown from 80 to over 730 students, with ambitions to reach 10,000+ students in the next 5–10 years. • In this role, the teacher will develop expertise in asynchronous online instruction, student advising, and life skills education while gaining experience in tiered academic support, remote collaboration, and the use of AI tools to enhance educational efficiency. They will also have opportunities to lead extracurricular initiatives, influence school policies, and grow professionally within a rapidly expanding organization committed to equity and continuous improvement.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Physical Education (Kinesiology or Exercise Science), Education (with a focus on health/PE), or related field
• At least 3 years of full-time Physical Education and/or Health secondary teaching experience in the United States, and must be comfortable teaching both Physical Education and Health
• Professional experience supporting students in secondary education within the last 5 years
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Tech-savvy with an ability to learn new platforms quickly, such as gradebooks, Google Classroom, curriculum platforms, and Google Workspace
• Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) responsible use of AI tools to increase efficiency in the education sector
